The start of the town and still watching over it many years down the line. Beautiful rose gardens and recently renovated. A must visit.

Plenty of parking along the streets of Montagu, we visited here on a Saturday morning, when also taking in the market.
Beautiful architecture, this is the typical stereotype of Dutch churches and stands proud in that brilliant white finish, right as the centre point in this beautiful town.
Small remembrance wall, a place to wander at ease and in safety.

Just love the beauty of this building, the focus point as you drive up the the town Centre.
The garden is beautifully designed and kept and the feeling of peace when walking there is overwhelming.

How wonderful to see the beautiful architecture of the Montagu Dutch Reformed Church and other historical buildings in the town,
This Dutch Reformed church is built in Neo Gothic style and was built in 1862

The NG (Dutch Reformed) church in Montegu dominates this nice village. It is a typical South African NG church building and very wll kept.

As members of this church, we are perhaps slightly subjective, but nevertheless, the building is well-maintained and anyone visiting the church and being afforded the opportunity to enter it and to walk around inside, will always remember the wonderful experience.

It is like the 'pillar' of Montagu, and a big traditional church building more or less in the middle of town. Unfortunately when we visited the doors were closed but it was good enough just to see the beautiful argitectural style of a bygone era.

I have been visiting Montagu for a number of years and always admired this beautiful Church at the junction of Church Street and Bath Street. I stands in well tended grounds and is an outstanding, eye-catching building.

I am a person who follows my faith which is not that practiced here, however, two years ago I managed to visit this church for the first time whilst an exhibition and Autumn fare were taking place. Dutch Reformed Churches are renowned for their interior simplicity and, that must never be confused with elegance. This year I was again able to visit and enjoy the peace and beauty of this Church during their Autumn Fare.

If you are at all interested in Architecture or follow a faith or, simply 'like' Churches, this is a beautiful place of worship, enhanced by the genuinely warm welcome of the members of the Church. If you are able to visit this stunning Church, do so, it really is Very special.

This elegant church occupies pride of place at the top of Church St and its elevated position serves as a landmark in the town. I found the choice of colour interesting, as it is painted in a creamy off-white rather than the more commonly used bright-white. Apparently the residents say there is less glare and less reflected heat with this colour.
The damage to the steeple and church clock that occurred during a storm a few years ago, has been repaired, the gardens are well tended and it is well worth taking the time to walk around and admire this fine building.
