Its a fine walk up to the tower with impressive views, and a winding staircase single file takes you to the top of the tower for even better views - down to the Calf of Man, across to Ronaldsway, and a panorama over the south...More

It is well worth taking the route through Bradda Glen and up the cliff path to visit this tower. The spiral stairs are steep, dark and winding, but the view from the top is magnificent.

Nice gentle walk from Port Erin, with spectacular views from the top of the tower. Would highly recommend.

This landmark can be seen for miles and it's quite a climb to reach it. It's free to enter and the spiral stairs are quite narrow so anyone who is morbidly obese ought to keep away. View from the top is great.

Well defined tracks/paths to the summit. Suggest diverting inland of the main track to walk through mowed grass area - much less steep and easier going.

Spectacular views over the two ports of St Mary and Erin to the south and mountains of Morne to the west. Best place to watch the sunsets. Plenty of photo ops. Warn children and dogs about the sheer drops off the cliffs! Oops!

Climbed up to see the tower wth a colleague from work whilst we were waiting for our flight home. Safe to say we both discovered we weren't as fit as we thought we were - half mile walk in really strong wind later we reached...More

It's half a mile from the last tarmac. Uphill but there's way steeper on the island. Totally worth it for the view. It's a shame you can't climb the tower when you get there but such is life.

We walked to the tower via the coast path from Port Erin... don't worry you can't get lost. The views are rewarding in themselves, but the view from the top of the tower was stunning. The tower is a memorial to a Birkenhead safe maker...More
