Wonderful to relax in the hot springs...and wonder at quite how hot they are (about 40 degrees centigrade). Like being in the rain forest but in a warm bath. Great info on geothermal emery too.

Located on the way to see Lagoa do Fogo. This hot spring is a beautiful place to stop off and relax for an hour. Parking is tricky and most people just park on the narrow road. There are actual parking spots if you’re lucky enough...More

In the Caldeira Velha you can find the information center about the vulcanic history of the Azores islands and the area in particular. Don’t expect high-tech multi media presentations, it’s just a couple of information signs in a building. However, it’s quite informative to read.

The Hot Springs in there are really nice. Really warm. Sometimes the smell can be overwhelming. The waterfall is really nice.

If you believe in paradise this place is similar to what I assume it is. It is so nice and unique. The only problem is the amount of people in it. It is a reserve and at the same time you can relax in the...More

Try hot water in tropical forest. The water is 38 dgr, relaxing feeling. Amazing experience as all together in Azores. I wish to return to these places full of peace and quiet.

Sulphur and iron is heavy, will certainly stain a light colour so unless you want the 'ferrobranco' look go dark colours and nothing too absorbent🙂
