About
The Castello di Meleto is in the center of an ideal geographical triangle formed by the cities of Siena, Florence and Arezzo. Surrounded by six beautiful houses, painstakingly restored in 2000, preserving its rustic Tuscan style. Each house has a private garden or terrace that overlooks the countryside surrounded by green vineyards and olive groves. In the basement of the castle, a real historical monument, a charming wine shop allows you to taste our wines, our organic extra virgin olive oil and salami of Cinta Senese from our farm. In addition, daily guided tours of the ground floor of the castle, the eighteenth-century theater, the dungeons with ancient cellars, prisons and the secret tunnel to escape from the Castle .. will make you to live an unique and unforgettable experience in a real castle in the Chianti area.

Book with caution! Although there are many things which are fantastic about Castello di Meleto, their customer service and professionalism are appalling.

My wife and I got married here in May 2023. All allergy information for our guests was shared with Castello Di Meleto in advance to be considered for the catering for the pizza party the night before the wedding. Unfortunately, although all guests were told there was no nuts present in the food, one of our guests (a child) had a severe allergic reaction and was required to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. It transpired this was because a pistachio cream was used in one of the desserts.

Since this point, Castello Di Meleto have avoided all accountability for this incident which hospitalised one of our guests. No apologies were made at the time of the incident or subsequent discussions in the following days with everybody passing on accountability to somebody else.

We have continued to try and discuss this incident for the last 6 months and we are continued to be ignored. It is evident that from this behaviour that customer service, guest health and well-being and respect for their guests are very much low on their priority.

Please consider the above experience when booking this venue for any events or holidays.

This tour of a winery in an old castle was great! The old theatre was a true treat! The owners have adobe a great job restoring the building. We only got to taste two wines, which was disappointing because they had at least 7 wines available.

We arrived to no baggage service and a very rude front counter person. They knew they gave us a terrible room and would not move us. We ended up behind the dining room that by the way had a large group. We could hear them until 11pm toasting and giving speaches. The show drain was plugged very little hot water and the sink drain would not open. We tried to have a bottle of wine outside only to be displaced by the large group not once but twice. We then found out no food was available Monday evening even off grounds. With that we stayed one out of three nights and left very unhappy. DONT STAY HERE

Castello Di Meleto is a ideal place for Tuscan vacation, we stayed here for 5 days and felt super enjoyable.
Farmhouse was spacious with the bi-level apartments, surrounded by the countryside, we had light food and wine at patio, took a nap at living room, totally immersed the summer holiday. The only downside was no cleaning service during stay.
Buffet breakfast was brilliant, classic and elegant dining area, Tuscan ingredients, olive oil and honey from the castle, all things were delightful.
We also spent good time at gallery, Big Bench (overlooked the vineyards was amazing), swimming pool, wine tour and shop.
If possible, I would like to come back every year.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment on the property. Layout wise, it was fantastic. There were 3 bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen. I felt like the kitchen could've been better stocked - there were only enough bowls/utensils for 4 people and we had 6. The a/c had a hard time keeping up with the 100+ degree temperatures, but it did cool the apartment off significantly. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evenings and enjoying the beautiful view out over the vineyard. The main pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it! Breakfast was in the main building and was great - eggs, coffee, juices, sweet baked goods, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese and fruit. My only critique was that the staff could've been friendlier and more helpful. Also wish the restaurant was open for lunch/dinner!

Extremely beautiful but not the best air conditioning or service. The wine was great and the restaurant was awesome!!! I would recommend but the roads to get to it or to the other towns around it are hard to drive on be careful.

Perfect wine tasting (view and experience with a sommelier).

Wine tasting is personal and detailed. Wonderful views if you sit outside. Cost is 12 to 15 euros to taste 3 wines. Giacomo (sommelier) and Stephany made the experience awesome !

This is an amazing place. It’s difficult to find words that express how fantastic the facilities are including the staff. Kathleen and Catia are unbelievably great at their jobs. They go overboard to make the guests feel part of the Meleto family.
We were able to stay in one of the towers and the accommodations were perfect.
They have two infinity swimming pools, amazing vineyards, great winetasting and tours of the castle and winery.
If you are lucky enough to stay in this resort your trip will be memorable for a long time.

We have been to Meleto every 4th year for 20 year and we love the Castello, the wine, the rooms and the infinity pool overviewing the wine ranks. Every now and then they also have an event in the wine cellar and that is so Lovely.

The food for lunch is good Too:)

The winery is in a very very elegant room in the beautiful old castle. The wine is wonderful as is service and wine tasting experience. Views are beautiful too. The food at the winery is simple and delicious. Went twice during our week long stay in Gaiole as enjoyed the ambience, wine, food and service so much.
