Just cycled from Rathkeale to BarnaghTunnell today on the Great Southern trail. Was very disappointed with the matting of leaves on the surface and too many gates from Newcastle West to Barnagh. Also gates were extremely difficult to negotiate with bicycles. The engineering around the...More

It is a pity it is not advertised more as it is one of the best walks in limerick,the surface is good and also the sections of the route makes it easy for young and old alike.
