My wife and I were here on a Globus tour, but this was part of a 3-day cruise tour by Celestyal Cruise Olympia. There's probably more here among the ruins than any other place after Acropolis and the Parthenon in Athens. We had been seeing...More

We walked here from Malia! Paid 3 euros each. Worth a visit! Toilet facilities also available. Wouldn’t recommend to families with very young children!

After suffering Knossos - the people, the rebuilding and the conjecture, we got to see the genuine remains of a Minoan palace. No signs explaining what Evans thought; we were left to imagine and deduce for ourselves. The site itself is in an inspiring position between...More

My husband wasn't a big fan of this place. We basically walked around and looked at rocks, which I thought was amazing. My mind went back to the civilization that once was and what it must have been like. I LOVE history and enjoyed my...More

I find some reviews of this place hilarious when they describe it as just a lot of old stones, what do they expect from a 4000 year old building, three floors, wallpaper and bathrooms? This site is unspoilt by ill-informed reconstructions as found in Knossos...More

We drove to the Palace of Malia from Stalis which is about 15 minutes and there is lots of parking available when you get there so that was a bonus. Entrance fee was €6, which was okay. The grounds themselves are quite big, lots to...More

As an OAP with my passport, I got in for 3 euro (normally 6). I found the site very interesting having previously visited Knossos. In a little building near the entrance there is a model of the palace as it was about 1800BC. You can...More

One of the smaller archeological sites on Crete. We didn't have guide so you just wonder around and make up your own story. It would be nice to see more of a description near the buildings or a folder/booklet.
