About Buccaneer Diving
Buccaneer Diving is East Africa's ONLY PADI CDC Centre and offers diving on the uncrowded South East coast of Zanzibar. Paje, Bwejuu and Jambiani is a location known for its pristine corals on the outer reef and excellent critter diving (including seahorses) in its protected 18M deep lagoon. We offer daily two dive days from our main base in Paje and take regular trips to the famous Mnemba atoll marine park.

My 12 year old son took his Open Water course at Buccaneer under the guidance of instructors Amy and Myrian. They were not only very skilled, but also very patient and very kind. It was nice that my son could follow the theory but also the practical course in Dutch, as his English was not yet sufficient. All exercises were clearly explained and well supervised during the performance, using good and modern equipment. My son learned from Amy and Myrian not only to dive safely, but also to have fun, which is what recreational diving is all about. He can now call himself a certified diver, and knowing that he is well trained, I look forward to diving with him in the near future.

Very helpful staff, but make sure you explain them your needs regards diving. Not to finish as as a tea bag😀. Experience divers know what I meant. They knows sites , very good spotters , I took many great photos. They look after my 8 years son under the water brilliantly. Maybe a little to fast moving but is a personal opinion. Definitely I can recommend them to my friends.

We were recommended Biccaneer from our hotel and we were lucky that they did. The dive centre is simple but clean, well run and staffed with passionate Zanzibarians who want you to leave both safely but with a great impression of diving in Zanzibar. Diving from Paje was a skim across the ocean to the outer coral reef on a fast boat with an excellent captain (i cannot remember his name - my bad). The briefing was good and it was really pleasing to see them allow up and coming dive masters lead a briefing even if he was suepr nervous. The dives (we did 2) were lovely, the corals were fantastic and there was plenty of small aqua marine life to keep us entertianed. We dived with an instructor and the dive master leading ( we are both experienced divers but always nice to have a team pointing things out on a site we are diving for the first time). The young dive master was attentive but non invasive and if one of us spotted something of interest, he would join us and then ensure the others were aware and could experience it as well. All in all, a great couple of dives!
