The tour is promoted as a visit to local villages to experience authentic rural life in Africa, interact with unique culture and see traditional homesteads . I wish Trip adviser, would stop promoting tours that exploit locals. . At the start of the trip we were told that the local kids in the villages will sing for us, and that we can buy sweets/biscuits or stationery from the tour operator at exorbitant prices to take on the tour to hand over. . When I asked our very professional guide what percentage of our 130dollar ticket went to uplifting the village or any local CSI projects , I was told none and the village benefits only from tourists bringing gifts of sweets, biscuits or stationery. This village visit is a focal point of the tour, it seems ludicrous that not even a small percentage of the fee is passed onto the villagers who are generating the profits of the tour operator. In an age where sustainable tourism is becoming ever more prevalent, it's archaic to continue promoting tours that rely on exploiting people or resources like this.

We arranged a tour for 2 (1 quad) at Kiwengwa, then we confirmed the pickup via Whatsapp with Cool Quads (should be at 8.45, 15 minutes before the tour). Our hotel was max. 5 minutes drive from the starting point - Kiwengwa beach. We had been waiting for 20 minutes, then they texted us they are another 25 minutes late. In the end, no show. The owner (I suppose) apologized they have no guides available (after another hour). Fortunately, we did not pay any deposit.

What a fun memorable experience we had. This ended up the highlight of the trip. Wanted to meet local children that was the motivation of taking this tour. Meeting children was such a wonderful experience. All of them are very pure minded and adorable. Definitely met my expectation. Moreover quad ride was also really fun. Riding in sugarcane field, rural local road, resting in the middle of farm field, etc, all moments was beyond my expectation. Stopped at the cave that was an additional fun during a tour. Young friendly tour guide was eager to help and explain everything that made this tour even better experience. There are several companies offering similar tour, but happy to choose Cool Quads. You will see and feel real Tanzania that most tourists do not. Highly recommended! ps. Don't forget to bring some goodies for children.
