A tree in water is not an attraction... If you swim around it, then visiting it maybe worthwhile, otherwise time would be well spent else where.

It can get busy here, but there is plenty of beach and people generally move on quickly after taking photos. It’s a must see spot for any photographers.

We went there for the iconic tree, it’s like a place for check in at Wanaka :) it’s not easy to take a great pic of the tree as its very much depend on the weather. Nice stop by though.

It's like the mecca for Wanaka, 99% of tourist are there. Besides viewing the lone tree on water, you could try stone skipping there and feed ducks!

When we checked into our accommodation the second thing the host mentioned was that tree. So went for a little drive to find it. A brief walk from the car park..passing the sign that said don’t climb in it...and there it was. Yep not bad...More

It's customary to click the picture of THAT Wanaka Tree :) You can drive to the carpark and click some nice pics! The background will depend on the weather but its pretty almost always. There are nice walks along the lake from the car park!
