Our trip included chance to go out on the water and experience views from water level - our guide for the day organised a canoe for when we arrived. Good fun lovely scenery.

Castlereagh reservoir is close to Hatton town and surrounded on almost every side by tea plantations. It really is a stunningly beautiful place which benefits from a cool breeze. From Hatton if you come past Warleigh Church (well worth a visit) down the B149, the...More

We were staying at Tea Trails Summerville which is situated on the reservoir, the pace of life is slow and leisurely

a large man made reservoir use for canuing boat rides the view from our room was worth seeing. the reservoir is worth a visit

The dam creates the iconic Castlereigh Reservoir, which is almost maintained by the inflow of water from the Kehalgamu Oya. The power station consists of two 25-megawatt units, totalling the plant capacity to 50 MW. Both units were commissioned in January 1965.
