Our couple buggy ride with Rakesh at Bel ombre nature reserve
Very warm Welcome from Anourada the receptionist and Rakesh our guide. Despite it being Sunday morning, we had the whole buggy for ourselves 😁 ... We did the safari 4x4 ride throughout the reserve. We saw deers and endemic species of trees, with paille en queues and Cateau Vert birds flying majestically all through the ride. Even the small hike to the waterfall was enjoyable..I definitely recommend a safari trip.. and we are going back soon for the other activities proposed there.. Once again thumbs up!

Lots of smiles from our family
We took the family (kids aged 9 and 13) we had a quad and buggy and we had the best day! Great fun off reading on the quads and buggy - not overly challenging but enough for us to have a good varied experience. Loved swimming in the waterfall at the end. Highlight of our holiday. Would totally recommend

    Jurassic park without the dinosaurs
We were with a mix of quad bikes buggies, buggies at the back and we had just a brilliant two hour trek around the reserve. We kept waiting for the dinosaurs to appear to cap it off. Lots to see and some stunning views, note, if the quad feels like it is sliding away, do not put your foot out! Highly recommended
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're thrilled to hear you had a brilliant two-hour trek with a mix of quad bikes and buggies. While we may not have dinosaurs, we're delighted you enjoyed the stunning views. Your recommendation means a lot. We hope to welcome you back soon! Best Regards, The Bel Ombre Nature Reserve Team

2 hour Quad Bike tour and waterfall swim
We had an amazing family quad bike tour today, guided by a fantastic guide in Gael. After a quick practice to make sure we all knew the controls, off we went. The trail is very picturesque, and very bumpy 🤣, and the waterfall is spectacular. Gael did a good job of ensuring we all stayed together, and guided us safely too the waterfall. What a fabulous place to swim! The whole family enjoyed the experience.

The nature reserve is a must for anyone visiting the south coast of Mauritius. It was established to preserve and restore the endemic flora and fauna which otherwise would risk of become extinct. Until now, the work has been quite successful and the visitor will enjoy amazing views of the landscape and spot rare birds and trees. A nuisance are wild boars that were brought to Mauritius by the first colonialists and now have to be hunted to control the population. When we visited the nature reserve, a golf course was building close to it and one can only hope that it will not damage it in any way. Crucial for your experience is how you choose to go around in the reserve. Exploring it on foot by yourself isn’t allowed. If you are bit adventurous you can drive a buggy or quad by yourself and join a column of other vehicles led by a guide. We preferred to enjoy the landscape instead of focusing on the bumpy and winding dirt roads and join a safari (maximum 6 passengers) driven by the guide. Special thanks to our guide who was both an excellent driver and very knowledgeable about the reserve.

We absolutely loved the quad biking experience, and felt it was very reasonably priced. We had one quad bike between the 2 of us, which was great as we both got a turn to drive it, but were able to chat and take photos throughout the experience too. The stop off at a waterfall to swim was wonderful, definitely worth doing!

Had the most fun quad biking around the nature reserve today. Unfortunately it was raining but actually this made the whole experience more exciting as we were quadding through giant puddles. Unfortunately we could not swim in the waterfall but it was still impressive. Highly recommend taking time off your sunbed to do this activity whatever the weather. Our guide Suhayl was brilliant and on our stops shared his knowledge of the flora and fauna in the park. Most do when in Mauritius

This is really worth the visit and shows a different side to Mauritius. The guides have a lot of local knowledge and understand about the wildlife, flora and Fauna.

We booked our trip thru Nitish at the "beach towel stand" located at the Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort. He has a great knowledge about the wildlife, flora and Fauna and always cheerful he was fabulous so helpful and checked in with us after the trip to see how we got on.

In relation to your visit to the reserve you can be transported around in a 4X4, buggy or quad bikes. Fun with the quad bikes but be prepared to be covered in mud!

There is a waterfall on the tour and you can jump in, fine in summer but bracing in the off season.

We were meant to do the quad tour, we were specifically told to arrive at 12:00 for lunch and then would have the tour after at 13:30. We just got a call now less then 24hrs before our booking to say we must be there for our tour at 09:15 which is not possible. There booking system is useless as they don’t respond to mails sent through their site, they tell you on Facebook messenger to call, you call them and they stuff up your booking. You don’t get any proof of booking or confirmation to dispute immediately if a mistake has been made and you can’t book on their website unless you a resident because the bookings online only have a residents package.

Absolutely disgraceful booking system. What a disappointment!

Amazing safari experience at Heritage Nature Reserve! All thanks to Zino, our guide, who shared his knowledge and made it all enjoyable. The views were so beautiful. We highly recommend the visit to anyone who would like an escape and be surrounded by nature.

Special thanks to Zino again for making the day so interesting with all the fun facts and insights on the plants and animals in reserve.

Eleven stops in one and a half hours gives a tantalising taste of the southern part of Mauritius. Our tour guide , Rakesh, provided an enlightening commentary of the historical and cultural significance of each stop on the tour. As a local, he added interesting snippets of his life and e perience to enrich the commentary.
This part of Mauritius is stunningly beautiful, even unique. The nearly 500 years of history is fascinating.
Is a ninety minute tour enough? Of course not but it gives a useful overview and you can go back to spend more time at select spots you have now been introduced to.
I think such tours an essential means to explore any holiday destination.

It is a fantastic place where you feel the calmness of nature around you. It is a well organised tour and the guide Rakesh gives excellent outlook and history of the places we visited. I recommend the Bay to Bay tour to everyone.

My girlfriend and I had a great time today with the 4x4 safari.

Initially we planned to go in March but it had to be postponed because of the lockdown. However, the staff was very helpful and accommodating and we managed to reschedule.

The scenery and views are breath-taking and it was a welcome change from the concrete jungle that we are acquainted to.

Our tour guide, Nitish, was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our eager questions. It certainly raised the visit to another level!

My husband and I went for a hike in Heritage Nature Reserve on 2nd of January 2022 and we had such a lovely time. The reserve itself is pure heaven - so pristine and natural. And what I appreciated most was that the presence of a guide was mandatory.. we had Olivier, a wonderful young man who was very patient when we had to slow down and he went to the trouble of explaining to and showing us all the treasures of the reserve.
We wanted to book a buggy initially but as everything was booked we opted for the hike and I have absolutely no regret. This is the best way to enjoy the natural beauty alongside with the benefit of exercising also....
A long breath of fresh air in the midst of the pandemic. I recommend it to everyone
