We planned to visit this Church as soon as we saw it from our hotel balcony. It looked so attractive and appealing. Today (9/8), we stopped in, and were awed as soon as we walked through the door. It is more than beautiful! So many...More

If you have time to visit this German Catholic church it is worth the time. It has a gothic feel and a beautiful, ornate altar. Parking is non existent for this building so you are better off parking to see the Alamo, Battle of Texas...More

Well worth a visit! It is 150 years old this yer which should get your attention--nice to see something that old in Texas. Well preserved. Not big or fancy like a Gothic Cathedral but shows the style of the time.

Loved visiting this beautiful, historic church building. The art, sculptures, stained glass windows that tell Bible stories, and the architecture of the building itself are something to see.

We had seen the building from various viewpoints before visiting in person. We don't visit [Catholic] churches often but this was chock full of history and beauty. The story-telling stained glass, the stone, and wood carvings, the entire architectural atmosphere was calming after walking in...More

If you were just dropped into the church without any idea where you were, based on architecture, motive, etc you would swear you were in a Catholic Church in Germany. The corner stone says May 8, 1868. It's beautiful inside, and everything is in German...More
