A lot of ruins here. Not enough left of the mission to get an adequate feel for what the place was like in the 1800's. Still, worth the stop, as all the missions are close to each other.

Mission Concepcion moved from East Texas to San Antonio in 1731. This active mission, the closest of the four in the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park to downtown San Antonio provides a number of photo opportunities. Park personnel are available to provide assistance.

Mission Concepcion is the best preserved of all the 4 missions in San Antonio. It is within a easy and short driving distance from San Antonio downtown. It is amazing to see such a beautiful historical mission dedicated more than 250 years ago. It also...More

Walk the interior and exterior. One can see the beauty that this mission once had. We enjoyed seeing the mission.

If you take the VIVA bus #40 on the mission trail, this is the first stop. We found this church building to be the most impressive and the best preserved of the missions. Some of the ramparts and adjacent buildings are not in as good...More

I recommend the movie at the visitors center and a guided tour if you really want to learn the particulars. I think $30 would be worth it for the multiple sites.
