The admission was $16.50 and was well worth it. I spent an hour on the observation deck, lots to see and gaze upon. I also saw a storm approaching, which was pretty cool to see at 560 feet off the ground. Some interesting facts, the tower height to the top of the antenna is 750 feet and it takes 43 seconds for the elevators to climb to the top. Best tower in Texas!

Husband had been here 1969 & wanted me to see it. 2 big fountains in the park at the entrance. $20 for the elevator ride to the top. We choose to have dinner in the Chart House restaurant. No reservations. We were 1st seated at a table & soon moved to another! Not sure why? Husband chose lobster bisque soup (tasty) ; chicken & potatoes "OK". I was not as hungry so picked crab cakes. We shared a piece of hot chocolate Lava cake for dessert. Very expensive!! But the view was fantastic in the revolving restaurant! The front entrance gal called a taxi for us to return to our hotel.

The tower is 750 feet tall, which is almost 200 feet taller than the Washington Monument. It provides a great view of the San Antonio area. The theater shows three short 4-D movies. We saw only two - the Skies Over Texas, which was pretty good, and the animated Ice Age movie. The third movie was about Wonder Woman. The seats lifting up and slamming back down apparently was supposed to add realism to the movies, but after a several minutes became nothing more than annoying.

Was so looking forward to doing this. Cost us $20/each to get in. The elevator ride up was ok, observation deck was ok (except the kids running amuck without any supervision), outside was very windy but nice views. The Chart house restaurant was a big disappointment. Food was overpriced and not even good! I got "seasoned" Chicken w/potatoes - no idea what the seasoning was as there was no taste at all, chicken was so dried out it was hard to eat and the potatoes were even dry/overcooked. My son got prime rib that was more medium done than medium rare as he requested, while the garlic mashed potatoes had a nice flavor, they were very stiff and really stuck to the roof of your mouth, the lava cake was also on the dry side, 2 sodas = $125 + tip. The views while rotating around were absolutely wonderful, which I guess makes up for the crappy meal. The movie was Skies over Texas which was interesting.....all 15 minutes of it!, the moving seats were fun but needs some maintenance as they made more noise than movement lol.

Nice panoramic views of the city. There was some history of the area to read about, but I wish there was some signage of what you're seeing further out. What was there was okay, but difficult to find while looking out. We went during the day and were told we could go up and down as often as we liked the same day with our bracelets, but we didn't make it back for sunset, unfortunately. The Tower is located about .4 miles from River Walk and with all of the construction, it was difficult to find. We accidentally discovered that walking through the new convention center is a great short cut, especially if it's hot outside!

We went directly to the restaurant/bar for the Happy Hour between 4-7 pm for food and drinks. The view was very nice (it is about 700 feet above ground with no entrance fee). A bonus was the live jazz music.

Tickets to go to the top of the Tower of the Americas were about $18.00 per person if I remember correctly. We went inside and took the elevator to the top. The views were impressive, but after one loop around we were all ready to move on. We went down the restaurant for a drink and as soon as we got off the elevator there was a non-pleasant smell. It was very seafood-ish and not in a good way. Not sure if it was just the day or what. Anyways, we stayed and we had a drink. The service was on the slower side, but we didn't have much to do so it didn't affect us this particular day. We left after that one drink. If you have nothing else to do, then I would say stop by for a visit.

Views were exceptional, and loved idea of a rotating restaurant. I'm afraid of heights and the elevator ride up was pretty scary to say the least. This is a fun experience for friends or family and is something you can check off your bucket list. The food we had for lunch was not my favorite, but it's more about the company and ambience after all. Service was great.

With a quick elevator ride up high into the Texas sky you’ll be treated to 360 degrees view of the Alamo City. Gives you a history lesson as well and a decent restaurant and bar as well. Would recommend this on your visit.
