    Storm Approaching
The admission was $16.50 and was well worth it. I spent an hour on the observation deck, lots to see and gaze upon. I also saw a storm approaching, which was pretty cool to see at 560 feet off the ground. Some interesting facts, the tower height to the top of the antenna is 750 feet and it takes 43 seconds for the elevators to climb to the top. Best tower in Texas!

Great experience to the top of the tower!
Husband had been here 1969 & wanted me to see it. 2 big fountains in the park at the entrance. $20 for the elevator ride to the top. We choose to have dinner in the Chart House restaurant. No reservations. We were 1st seated at a table & soon moved to another! Not sure why? Husband chose lobster bisque soup (tasty) ; chicken & potatoes "OK". I was not as hungry so picked crab cakes. We shared a piece of hot chocolate Lava cake for dessert. Very expensive!! But the view was fantastic in the revolving restaurant! The front entrance gal called a taxi for us to return to our hotel.

Great View of the San Antonio Area
The tower is 750 feet tall, which is almost 200 feet taller than the Washington Monument. It provides a great view of the San Antonio area. The theater shows three short 4-D movies. We saw only two - the Skies Over Texas, which was pretty good, and the animated Ice Age movie. The third movie was about Wonder Woman. The seats lifting up and slamming back down apparently was supposed to add realism to the movies, but after a several minutes became nothing more than annoying.

Disappointing - a waste of money and time
Was so looking forward to doing this. Cost us $20/each to get in. The elevator ride up was ok, observation deck was ok (except the kids running amuck without any supervision), outside was very windy but nice views. The Chart house restaurant was a big disappointment. Food was overpriced and not even good! I got "seasoned" Chicken w/potatoes - no idea what the seasoning was as there was no taste at all, chicken was so dried out it was hard to eat and the potatoes were even dry/overcooked. My son got prime rib that was more medium done than medium rare as he requested, while the garlic mashed potatoes had a nice flavor, they were very stiff and really stuck to the roof of your mouth, the lava cake was also on the dry side, 2 sodas = $125 + tip. The views while rotating around were absolutely wonderful, which I guess makes up for the crappy meal. The movie was Skies over Texas which was interesting.....all 15 minutes of it!, the moving seats were fun but needs some maintenance as they made more noise than movement lol.

Do if you like this sort of thing, but construction in area, walk through Convention Center for easy access!
Nice panoramic views of the city. There was some history of the area to read about, but I wish there was some signage of what you're seeing further out. What was there was okay, but difficult to find while looking out. We went during the day and were told we could go up and down as often as we liked the same day with our bracelets, but we didn't make it back for sunset, unfortunately. The Tower is located about .4 miles from River Walk and with all of the construction, it was difficult to find. We accidentally discovered that walking through the new convention center is a great short cut, especially if it's hot outside!

    Nice View, Food and Drinks
We went directly to the restaurant/bar for the Happy Hour between 4-7 pm for food and drinks. The view was very nice (it is about 700 feet above ground with no entrance fee). A bonus was the live jazz music.

Got about what we expected out of the visit.
Tickets to go to the top of the Tower of the Americas were about $18.00 per person if I remember correctly. We went inside and took the elevator to the top. The views were impressive, but after one loop around we were all ready to move on. We went down the restaurant for a drink and as soon as we got off the elevator there was a non-pleasant smell. It was very seafood-ish and not in a good way. Not sure if it was just the day or what. Anyways, we stayed and we had a drink. The service was on the slower side, but we didn't have much to do so it didn't affect us this particular day. We left after that one drink. If you have nothing else to do, then I would say stop by for a visit.

    Great views, no doubt
Views were exceptional, and loved idea of a rotating restaurant. I'm afraid of heights and the elevator ride up was pretty scary to say the least. This is a fun experience for friends or family and is something you can check off your bucket list. The food we had for lunch was not my favorite, but it's more about the company and ambience after all. Service was great.

See San Antonio from high above and enjoy a bite to eat and a drink with unmatched views of the city.
With a quick elevator ride up high into the Texas sky you’ll be treated to 360 degrees view of the Alamo City. Gives you a history lesson as well and a decent restaurant and bar as well. Would recommend this on your visit.

I was taken back by the service or should I say lack of service my family received here. My son is home from the Navy before he ships off to Japan for 4 years. I had never been here and thought it would be a nice place to have dinner before he caught his flight. Boy was I mistaken. When the hostess took us to our table it was extremely close to the table next to us, who had also just been seated as they were on the elevator before us. The patron's at the table and myself both voiced our concerns and the hostess merely told the other guests they had their chairs pushed back too far as we measured and it's 6 feet. We kind of shrugged it off and left our masks on. We literally sat there for 27 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. At 20 minutes I went to the hostess stand and advised the hostess and the young man in a blue shirt (who I assumed was the manager) that we had not been brought water or even seen our server. She really asked me are you sure about that? I advised her yes ma'am why else would be up here. When I returned to the table the people seated right before and in the same section as us not only had their drinks but the server was bringing them their appetizers. He than left and came back with a bottle of wine and poured it for the table. He disappeared again for a couple of minutes and when he returned he was actually our server too. We placed our drink order and our meal order at that time and advised our server we were on a tight schedule and made our reservation for 6:15 as we had to be to the airport by 9pm would he be able to accommodate that time frame. He said it should not be a problem as we are not that busy tonight. We ordered calamari and 2 crab cakes for an appetizer and 2 salmon, 1 Mahi and a medium rare ribeye for dinner and an order of coconut shrimp to go. Our drinks arrived at 7:17pm we sat there with no beverage - not even a water for 1 hour. While our neighbors were already getting their main course. Our appetizers and our meal all arrived at the same time. At no time did our server stop by to make sure everything was alright or if we needed any refill's. He stopped by once I had finished my meal and took my plate at which time I advised that the deserts would need to be boxed up and that we needed the to go order and our check right away. Yeah the kitchen is still working on that to go order. We barely made it to the airport on time if my son was not military and had to wait through the TSA line he would have missed his flight. you would think that if you are paying a $300 dinner tab for a family of 4 you would at least be treated with some respect.

My aunt who lives in San Antonio recommended we visit this local attraction and I am so pleased we did!! The landscape and feel of the attraction was just what we needed for the day. Even though I am so afraid of heights, the ride up was smooth and provided a breathtaking view of the city. We went around sun set so the lighting and the transition from evening to night was beautiful.

Once at the top, we enjoyed a cocktail and appetizers as a "night cap" before continuing the evening. We enjoyed shrimp cocktail that was delightful and fresh!

The Towers also have 4D type movie experience that was hilarious and added "icing to the cake." This attraction also had the perfect scenery for pictures and to just enjoy being outside.

It is great for family or for an inexpensive date for you and your favorite person. :-)

We had an amazing lunch at Tower of the Americas. If you're going to spend the $$ to ride up the elevator to get to the viewing deck, it is a much better value to just go have lunch in the rotating restaurant, because it really didn't cost too much more to sit and have a meal and watch the views go by. We were seated right next to the the window and the restaurant does a complete rotation every hour. We spent 2 and a half hours because we just had to stay a little longer and enjoy a chocolate lava cake, OMG!

This was the carafe my wine was served in at the restaurant located in the Tower of the Americas restaurant. I looked over at a tray of other glassware and saw that each item looked the same. This place is too expensive to be serving drinks in dirty glassware.

This is well worth it if you have some extra time to spare. I would not recommend seeing the tower in lieu of the missions, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, etc. though.

We visited it on a Sunday afternoon in June, and it wasn’t busy at all. We did have to pay to park; I believe that was $15.00. The fee to take the elevator to the top was also around $15.

Outside, at the bottom of the tower, are several very impressive foundations. So, if you have someone in your travel party who won’t do the elevator, they can keep busy by walking around and looking at the fountains. There’s even a fountain for kids to run through.

The glass elevator going up the side of the tower looks daunting from the outside, but it seriously isn’t bad at all. I don’t like heights so I stood away from the glass side, and I did just fine. Only one wall of the elevator is glass; the other four sides are not. It’s easy to find a spot to stand where you don’t even have to look down if you don’t want to.

Once on top, the view is great. Be sure to go out on the walkway that’s just a bit open (really just air vents).

Included in your ticket price is a 4D movie in the theater at the bottom of the tower. It’s just okay. Be aware that the seats do jerk around a few times.

The three 4D short films as part of the ticket price were interesting… two animated and one on the scenery of Texas. Warning - the seats jerk quite violently in all 3 but the two seats on the first row do not move.
The view at the top was amazing! Which is the best thing I can say about the experience.
I went to happy hour at the bar and was extremely disappointed!! The water had a metallic taste and I had to get another beverage to wash away that taste. For a place that charges what they do for food ($$$-$$$$), I expected it to be amazing but was very disappointed. I did not like anything that was ordered!!
See the view, watch the films if you like, but definitely skip the restaurant & bar.

We ate dinner at the Chart House and were treated to a 360 degree view of San Antonio. There are not too many memorable buildings to see from the top of the tower but the glittering night lights are a pretty sight. Texas is very flat. I do object, however, to the $8 parking fee when you are there to eat in the restaurant. I would think that the Chart House would have some system to comp the parking.

This operation is completely mismanaged from top to bottom. We waited an hour to buy tickets, while one person worked one of the three windows, no less than four other employees just stood there watching one work. Once we got inside the employee wouldn’t answer any questions until she had visual proof that everyone in our party had wrist bands. When we finally got to the top there was no one working except a janitor and the restrooms had no running water. We were told to use the restaurant elevator to access the restrooms one level down, but when the elevator arrived we were told we couldn’t use it. By the time our party made it back down to the ground floor they were told the movie had already started and would have to wait an hour. Dejected, we decided to leave, and as we walked away from the tower we were hit with some foul smelling liquid from the tower above. There was not a cloud in the sky and no other source it could have come from but the tower. It was a completely horrid experience, employees couldn’t care less, and we’ve disouted the ticket charges with the credit card provider.

A must see when in San Antonio, your entry ticket gives you unlimited entries on that day, we visited the observation deck in the daytime and went back again for sunset! There are points of interest and Texas history information available at the observation deck. On the ground floor there is also a 4D theatre showing different short movies, when we visited we saw a Skies over Texas, Wonder Woman and Ice Age. We didn’t visit the bar or restaurant but you are able to visit them without purchasing an observation deck ticket.

Built for the 1968 worlds fair, the tower is a serious engineering feat. A reasonable fee gets you unlimited elevator rides for a day (you get a wristband....nothing says "tourist" like a wrist band). The view from 750 feet in the air is pretty expansive, and the top is circular, so it's 360° view. There are maps, telling you what you're seeing on the horizon. There is an outer, outdoor, viewing platform as well (too cold when we visited). If you’re feeling expensive, couple your visit with dinner at the chart house restaurant, which slowly rotates to create an ever changing view. Recommended.
