We always make a point of stopping in at the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory when we are on the Big Island. If you go in the morning or early afternoon you can view the factory employees in action through big picture windows as they process...More
Unremarkable factory store with many types of macs. Only the large bags set it apart from dozens of other places. My office-mates were really tickled when we broke open the bags. But, if you don't need 4# of nuts, don't bother.
Every time we visit the Big Island, we go to Hamakua Macadamia Nut company to shop for treats to take back to mainland. You can find some of their products in supermarkets and stores. However those may not be as fresh as buying directly from...More
This is not a Macadamia nut farm, it's a canning facility-however when you're in the neighborhood, it's a cute place to stop for 30 min
Immediately as you walk in they greet you and let you know you can sample everything-there's a large sample table,...More
We checked out reviews thinking we’d end up at Mauna Loa, but decided on this macadamia nut visitors center and factory. So glad we did! They had wonderful samples of all of their flavors— spam was my favorite— amazing brittles— great souvenirs—- and a tremendously...More
Stopped by because we’re close. Glad I did. Sampled lots of their nuts and brittles. Ended up with the basic dry roasted. The brittles are awesome and we settled for the coconut.
I wouldn’t drive miles out of the way but it’s an interesting 1/2...More
Nice little mac store. Has a nice variety of mac nuts here. Free samples of a number of them. They also have some free coffee to sample. Mac, chocolate, coffee, souvenirs, smoothies and popcorn can be found here. Prices cheaper than at walmart.
Ate probably a quarter of the samples... Everything they sell, there are samples of! We were there at 4 on a Thursday, and there was no one working behind the windows (where you'd watch the production line) or giving the video tour. So, self guided...More

Sorry I am late in responding, but everything is free except what you purchase. The chocolate macadamia nut ice cream and some other goodies to eat there are also wonderful. Sometimes they have specials if you buy several of an item. Love to visit this place every trip to the Big Island, and it is far, far away from the spouting Volcano! In fact, over 90% of the island is safely far away from what is happening now, and I bet you can get bargain prices because people are canceling reservations.
