Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise

404 reviews
Get the best possible views of the Albuquerque area without the expense of a helicopter tour. By heading out at sunrise in a hot air balloon, you'll be able to watch and snap photos as the sun's first rays fall on the dramatic landscape of the Sandia Mountains. Dip low over the mighty Rio Grande while listening to commentary on the area's geology and environment from your pilot. Then land for breakfast and sparkling wine.

Enjoyed visiting with family. Due to covid you do have to purchase tickets during a specific time slot online so I suggest looking a day or so in advance so tickets do not sell out. The zoo was very nice but sadly some things were blocked off so you could not see every animal exhibit. Also, if you purchase an afternoon ticket, make sure you check out the reptile and penguins out first as those will close it gets closer to time for the park to close. Good place to go if the weather is nice and you want to do something relaxing with the family.

I try to visit zoos when in the area of one I haven't been to. This one is going to be very nice once they get all of the renovations completed. The penguin area that opened recently was very cool because you get to see the penguins up close. All of the animals were out and about due to it being a pretty cool day and most of the habitats you can see the animals very easily but there are a couple you have to search for the animal. The gift shop had lots of shirts for animals they didn't even have there anymore so I thought that was odd. The prices are about what other zoos charge; however, don't think the drink and snack prices are even close to being average. We got a supposedly fresh squeezed lemonade that tasted like river water and not fresh squeezed lemonade for $8.95 and over cooked chips were $5.95 for a bag. You could get 3 bags of Lays for that and they'd taste way better. Take your own drinks and snacks then go enjoy the zoo.

Nice botanical park, required online purchase of tickets which I did not care for. Required time to book a time for the experience. Zoo was closed down due to Covid. Lots of staff were around the park.

You can get at the zoo with a small old time train from the Botanical garden/ aquarium. Is very informative and educative for kids, and there are plenty of other things to do if you need a break from walking around the animals enclosures, such as picnic areas, shops with foods, drinks and keepsakes, clean restrooms and water fountains.

The zoo is half empty and in need of repair and exhibits. The train was out of service and some sections were inaccessible.
