While staying in Quito we booked a small group tour to the Mindo Cloud Forest trough a company called Latin Adventures. To our delight, the tour turned out to be just the two of us escorted by a driver guide, named Oscar who picked us...More

Of all the things you can do in Mindo, the hike to the multiple waterfalls is definitely the best activity! The forest is very dense, its so beautiful, you can swim in different parts and its not always too rocky. The trail goes up and...More

We hiked to all the different falls. It's intermediate due to ALL the hills, steps and slippery conditions. (at least when it's raining). After this we toured the chocolate factory. All in all a very satisfying day in nature!!

You can either walk for a good hour until you reach the cable car (tarabita) or take a taxi for 6$. If you are fit enough, I would suggest not to waste your money on a taxi ride and just walk. It's not as beautiful...More

This is adventurous but much fun especially if you are over 50 like me you get a real life check. The forest is gorgeous and you can zipperwire almost in 6 different directions but we have done just 3 with emotion and was worth it.

Beautiful ! From the very 1st moment riding that tarabita to hiking around and finding every waterfall. It's a bit humid so bring appropriate clothing, but do not forget your swimsuits as well to dip in the water. Found a friendly dog on the way,...More

We rode the Tarabita over the cloud forest reserve and walked to the first two of the waterfalls before heavy rain that made the trail slippery forced us to turn around. It is a beautiful part of Ecuador, definitely worth visiting.

We stayed at the Coffee Tree Spa and had the front desk secure us a round trip taxi and also purchase in advance the entrance ticket. Once we arrived on top of the mountain we knew it was a good idea to do the round...More

We were not required or advised to get the yellow fever vaccine. I would recommend bug spray though (without CFCs), especially if you will be hiking.

Sorry. We are a mature couple. We visited Mindo without a guide. Sorted ourselves out once there and didn't feel we needed a guide. Hopped on a bus in Quito and stayed for 4 days. Loved it. Hope you do.
