Small sandy beach in front of hotels with a tight parking area. Great for families and people with (unleashed) dogs, but not the one I would spend most of vacation time on.

Water activity equipment (snorkeling, kayaks, paddle boarding) just a short walk from resort. Sandy beach is well frequented and shared by users of water equipment. A small cafe/snack bar/equipment rental desk are close by.

Glorious fine white sand crescent beach that is shared between the Four Seasons Maui and the Grand Wailea Resort. A leeward, soft wave, perfect beach

You can always go get in your car and drive to Makawao which is a cool little town that is "upcountry"...or you can just walk next door to the hotel and shop at the mall.
