I visited with my mother who is 81. So we didn’t do the plethora of hikes available - however, they were easy to access and would have been fabulous based on what we did do just from the car. We drove to the top of...More

It is a relatively large restaurant that has outside street dining, enclosed “outside dining and cozy indoor dining. They have specials but they make excellent pasta dishes that are delicious. Many pasta dishes can be ordered as an half order for appetizers or for small...More

Take the long windy round up to Mount Tam for sure. You may think you missed it, but keep going. The parking lot is at the end of the road. It's a short but steep trail to the top. On a clear day, the views...More

This is a really terrific place for a walk and a picnic, preferably accompanied by a good bottle of locally produced wine! It's not crowded and has lovely views to boot. Go! Eat! Drink!

Mt. Tam is a wonderful park to visit. You can drive all the way to the top and park, walking up to the firehouse platform or around the Mountain. Be smart, bring water, watch where you walk. I was just there in mid-September and nearly...More

This is a great stop between Sausalito and Stinson Beach, as long as you don't mind the windy, busy road. It isn't too narrow, but there are lots of bike riders and that can make it narrow. Just be a bit cautious. The view and...More

Mount Tam’ is a great place to visit, and the views are amazing. There’s probably the best photo opportunity on the lower road not far from the freeway and the Golden Gate bridge viewpoint. From this location you can get an excellent shot of yourself,...More

Depending on what side of the mountain you are and how high up the climate is different. Some sides are dry and others and foggy and damp. Nice hike with great views.

Just over the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, there are miles and miles of trails. Drive to the top of Mt. Tam, but, if you go on a weekend, start early. There are tons of mountain bikers biking up the switchback turns, and then...More

We started in Muir Woods Nat. Monument. We caught an uber to Muir from SF. We then hiked up and out of Muir and into Tamalpais ending on the Panoramic Trail. Great 4.2 mi. hike. Stopped at Mountain Home Inn for a bite, then ubered...More

You are fast approaching God's annual wildflower show. Mt. Tam is filled with trails, and a map is usually available at the ranger station. Even on foggy days, you can usually reach the sun well before the summit. Dress in... More

No, it was on the Cataract Trail. The road to Bolinas is also very scenic, and I encourage exploring that too. I was fortunate to go at a time when we were having record rainfall.
