I had my wedding ceremony and reception here om 9-9-23 and the experience was AMAZING. I could not have had a better venue. Chase was fantastic as an Event Planner. He was available every step of the way. I will post photos as I gather them. It was a truly magical experience for all of my guests, as well as Bob and I. Thank you, Arboretum!

Nice park with plenty of parking. At least it was on July 4th at around 11:30. Maybe everyone was away, so I’m not sure how crowded it normally gets but the arboretum was pretty much empty that day. There are some easy (unpacked) trails with plenty of benches.

Spring has sprung at Frelinghuysen Arboretum with all the beautiful colors. Next to bloom will be the roses to enjoy while walking in the gardens.

Nothing is in bloom in the winter. Come back and visit when things are on bloom. One star only due to winter visit. Disappointed the area is very small to walk around.

We stopped here recently while we were in Morristown enjoying its historic sites. We thought the grounds here were pretty and pleasant to stroll, although there are only a few paved garden walks. We admired several huge beautiful trees on the grounds (it is an arboretum, after all), and the autumn foliage was at its peak. There are no huge show gardens here; instead, hiking trails seem to be the emphasis. We were disappointed that the mansion we walked up to was not open for touring; that would have been a nice feature (it’s being restored, we were told). There was a rose garden behind the mansion, with roses still blooming even in late October. We did enjoy seeing the carriage house, with several interesting historic coaches and carriages on display.
There is no café here, but some tables & chairs were available outside the Education Building for brown-bagging it; rest rooms are there as well. There is plentiful free parking. All in all, we spent about an hour strolling the pleasant grounds and viewing the carriages. Maybe in spring and summer, there are more colorful gardens to enjoy, but we didn’t find much to see or do.

Today was a beautiful sunny day so my wife and I stopped by Frelinghuysen Arboretum to welcome the beginning of spring and the end of winter. Anytime of the year is a good time to take pictures, especially if it gets you outside for the fresh air.

My wife and I enjoy walking the peaceful and lovely grounds of Frelinghuysen Arboretum and taking pictures of the wide variety of plants and flowers growing here. Each season brings something different to see.

I discovered this place in 2019 and wanted to go back in the spring, so glad I did! The flowering trees and all the daffodils were beautiful! Definitely a nice place for a walk to quiet place to sit and look at all the beauty.

This was a great find. Went to a wedding in the area, and went there on getaway day. Was before many things were blooming, some things were coming up. You could see how great it would be when things are blooming. All the trees and shrubs were nicely labeled. Nice trails, very peaceful and pleasant. Great display of old horse drawn carriages

The Arboretum always has something worth viewing, like a neat “Scarecrows in the Garden” effort. Not all of the trails will be open, but it’s worth the trip. You can always check the “Friends of the Arboretum” website. Enjoy!

Where exactly is the entrance to the Arboretum? Is the entrance well signaled? Thank you!

The entrance is on East Hanover Avenue, slightly East of and across the street from the Morris County Library. It is well marked.
Hope you enjoy your visit.
