Montgo Natural Park is a beautiful mountain shaped like a "sleeping elephant" (Montgo in Spanish) that dominates the area of Denia and Javea. If you pick up a leaflet from the tourist information centre in Denia it will mark out several routes up the mountain...More

Montgo looks like an elephants head- honest. It's steep sides are not an easy climb for walkers although there is a designated treck from the Denia side which a fit person can use and reach the summit in under 3 hours. Spectacular views throughout. It's...More

A great way to spend a day enjoying the fresh air and views. Dress appropriately wear lots of sunblock and sunglasses. Make sure you bring along water and a nice picnic. It really is a day to remember 😊

The walk up Montgo is well worth it, as the views from the summit are fantastic. The path is well signposted and not too difficult. For those not wishing to climb there is a flat circular walk at the base of Montgo.

We came here a day after the fires (arson attack) and the place was still lovely hint of fire smell when the wind blew and worried it was going to start again after homes had to be evacuated but it didn't spoil our weeks break...More

Wonderful wild and unspoilt area of Javea with excellent walks and scenery. A joy in month of May when wild flowers are out.

The drive up to the natural park gives good views and prospective on Javea area. Much of the trees burnt a few years ago and it is being returned to its native habitat from a parking area you can walk along a fairly level path...More

Hiking in the natural park was amazing, I definitely would go again. The park could be bigger though, and the signs could be better. Not sure if you can buy a map to the park somewhere.

Quite a large area with car parks near the lighthouse with views across to Ibiza. Also walks up to the top of Montgo mountain. And, some flat level walks around the nature reserve suitable for cycling, prams or wheelchairs.
