Carved into the side of a mountain are an amazing labyrinth of caves that were cut into the rock a thousand years ago to store grain. The entrance fee is 1.5e per adult. After a ten-minute walk down steps and then a rock path, you...More

Moorish caves are a window to the rich history of Bocairente. Easy to access, these caves give a wonderful view of the city. During our visit, the tourist office was closed and opened at 4:00 pm. If you visit, please check the timings of the...More

We got there just before the caves were closing for the afternoon, so we had to run down into the valley and up to the cave entrance. The guide was wonderful and did not rush us at all. He did not speak English. There is...More

Moorish caves are good for one time visit in Bocairente. You may like it, depending upon your inclination for archaic architecture. Average experience. Don't go if you are scared of tight places. If you are coming from Ontinyent, book a taxi in advance. There is...More

There's not much I can add to thomac's 2014 expansive review especially as I chickened out early on whilst my husband went ahead. Firstly don't consider this without proper flat shoes, and I don't mean flip flops. The steps down and up to the caves...More

Built by the Arabs apparently with over 50 windows and now a metal staircase for access. The chambers, which are nearly all rectangular and of varied sizes – on average from 2.5m x 3m to 2.5m x 4m.

Everything in Bocairente, barring the Tourist Info and a couple of bars, is closed on Monday. But you can still walk to the entrance of the caves and even without being able to go inside you get a sense of how amazing this place is.

The place is really amazing. One really should go if one is in Bocairent or near it. The guide was annoying, not very helpful and came off as rude. He had little of interest to tell as well.

This is an amazing place to visit and very reasonably priced. We did make a but of a schoolboy error, we did not grasp you go in one end, move through and exit at the other end. We went so far and doubled back -...More

really an adventure, I'm scared of heights and had to push myself (the metal staircases outside were difficult for me), I would totally advise again visiting if you're claustrophobic. They said dd (3 year old) would be fine and she was, but it's definitely not...More

Well worth a visit, although you have to be prepared to squeeze thorough some very tight spaces both up and down and between the rooms. Once in there is no way back!!
