Wonderful little museum with a great representative sample of objects from the ancient Near East, the Americas, and Africa, all in a neat building on the quad at Emory. Great bookstore too.

This is another place we visit with frequency. They have good programs and the displays are terrific. The bookstore is supurb. My son has always been particularly fascinated with their numerous mummies. Parking is a little tricky for non-locals. Use the Fishburne (sp?) lot.

The Carlos Museum is a great little museum right on the Emory University campus. It has an excellent collection of Egyptian artifacts and a very good sampling of some other antiquities (Roman, Greek, Tibet, the Americas). Some of the temporary exhibits are also wonderful, as...More

A great museum with a ton of Egyptian artifacts. Really great place to spend an afternoon and the admission price is not expensive.

Wonderful exhibits on Egyptian artifacts and other current exhibits... took my Grandchildren and they did enjoy and liked seeing something from another culture... They were fascinated by some of the items (the mummy's) .... and learned some thing new..

Worth the visit! Impressive selection in a small museum. So much better than the current High Art Museum’s exhibits as at least 2 floors are under renovation.

I recommend taking the free guided tour. We learned a lot about the various exhibits from the tour. Unfortunately, we took the tour at the end of our limited time and didn't have enough time to visit some sections of the museum which though the...More

Why is this museum not more well known? It's fantastic! The Egyptian collection is one of the best I've ever seen. The ancient Greek collection was very nice as well. Although my first impression of the museum was that it was small, they made good...More
