Maymont has to be experienced in order to be described. Everything they do, they do well. Garden Glow was spectacular! It was a refreshing autumnal-themed change of pace from the countless holiday-in-lights displays across the country. It was well run and well organized. Tour the...More

An absolutely beautiful place, with wonderful gardens (especially the Japanese garden with the waterfall). If you have time out in Afton VA (about 100 miles west) is Sawannoah which was a summer home built by the same family also worth visiting.

Maymount is a beautiful park, great to walk around on a nice afternoon. Definitely wear comfortable walking shoes, as the park is huge, windy and has hills. There are plenty gardens, some animals and history to see.

The gardens and property were really nice. Wear good walking shoes and know there are some hills up and down along with stairs. I do think they had a gold Cart tour for those not able to walk the property. I bet the Glow Night...More

They have already started decorating the inside of the Dooley mansion for Christmas. Don't know if they light up the house or the gardens, but the staff was very helpful, so you could probably just call them and ask.
