This campus of buildings is not only the summer vacation spot of the pontif, but supposedly the current retirement home of the previous Pope. The center square is an amazing collection of shops.

That depends where you are starting from. There are trains from Roma Termini every hour. Costs are €2.10 each way. Trains are air conditioned and have power sockets.
