A trip to Holy Island with Ger Madden is one of the best things we did on our trip to the West. He's some character and we all learned so much about Irish history. Highly recommended for a day out.

For some peace and nature connection, pack yourself a lunch and picnic blanket, and you'll be set for a day of adventuring. If you have kids, the Aistear playground and stone labyrinth will be a wide ranging stopover that can take as long as you...More

It looks like some reviews here are of the park in Mountshannon and some are of the holy island. Since I was at both, I’ll give you the BOGO special. The park is pretty cool. There is something for everyone there. My daughter loved the...More

This place was good for the soul. We had the island to ourselves as the weather had not been good. Do not miss a visit here!

Holy island tours. Gerard (captain of the boat) leaves the mountshannon quay where he has a hut. He leaves when you are ready, and transports you out to the Island, in his little boat, then returns to collect you an hour later, (pay on return)....More

We stopped overnight on our cruise boat and took the time to visit Holy Island. Truly unspoilt by tourism, use your imagination to step back in time and wonder what it was like when it was the end of a long pilgrimage. What a wonderful...More

This is a very well laid out park, it also has a kids playground. There is a heritage centre there also which had an exhibition about Holy Island. We walked in the park several times during our stay.
