We decided to visit this attraction purely on the recommendation in the travel book we were using and we were so pleased that we did. The interactive style of this centre made it really interesting and, although I knew nothing about the saga, I found...More

Closes relative early, 9pm. We phoned up earlier in the evening to book a table, which we were thankful, as it is a popular place. The service was a little slow, but friendly and the food was good. We arrived too late to go to...More

And this includes the one in Reykjavik. Less actual archeological remnants but excellent explanations and very good art pieces in the exhibit

We decided to stop here on the way back from a lengthy "Into the Glacier" excursion and were happy we did. The staff were friendly and the fish soup (or Fiskisúpa með heimabökuðu brauði) was insanely good! There was also a gift shop that was...More

A group of us traveling on a 10 day trip to Iceland visited this center. We really liked the way the exhibit was presented, using visual and auditory senses. The lunch buffet, including a huge assortment of salads, was very good.

I am normally not the person who goes into museums but this one was really nice. Not boring at all and exactly the correct amount of information ! I would recommend this to everybody and also with kids.

I wish I had done more up front homework on this. Unfortunately we did not get to take the tour - so my average both reflects the cost and my lack of initial research. Firstly, a sign stated an audio guide is REQUIRED to take...More

Thank you for your review. It looks like you did not take the tour and yes you are right the way we present the Sagas it does not allow for an actual guide with Q&A. The cost is ISK 2500 for two exhibits not for...More

the tour is split into 2 stages, taken via audio tour. stage 1 takes you through the original settlement of Iceland. the exhibit is just interactive enough to combat some of the overwhelming figures and facts that you are being told. also there are enough...More

This small museum has two sections with audio guides to walk through. Each section only takes about a 1/2 hour and gives enough information without overwhelming you. We were there on a real busy day and the staff handled it gracefully. The cafe upstairs is...More
