The main waterwheel is lovely and worth a look but you could probably stop there unless you want a walk around the town.

We arrived to L'Isle sur la Sorgue around noon on a Sunday. We found free parking after searching in a couple of parking lots. Next we went to eat lunch. After lunch, we walked around the town and saw about 7 of the water wheels....More

This is a very nice walk that takes you through the heart of the village. Old water wheels are everywhere. A very relaxing walk that takes you about fifteen minutes,

Whilst it is easy to get sucked into the many shops and cafes in the winding streets of I'Isle it is worthwhile taking a walk round the waterways and seeing the variety of waterwheels upon which the town was founded. From memory 34 originally and...More

The circuit is purely magnificent and provides great photo ops. In addition there are a number of great antique / second hand shops in the general area which are worthy of viewing. Wished we had more time to explore further.

We loved playing Pooh sticks along the waterwheels in L'isle sur la Sorgue! Winnie the Pooh would be so proud!! Oh and there plenty of ducks and ducklings too - super cute and fluffy ;)

we really enjoyed our historic walk around L'isle-sur-las-Sorgue. the water wheel system once used to power many different local industries is still in tact. Lots of great photos just waiting to be taken. What a great way to explore the city!

There used to be a lot of waterwheels in and around the city, providing power to some of the local industries. Only about 17 are left, but some are spectacularly clad in water weeds and make for nice photos.
