This was my first luau on the Big Island, but one of many I’ve attended across the Hawaiian islands. The set up was a little different from other luaus, but seemed to work.
People with the Ali’i package have a different check in line and are allowed to enter the luau grounds first. The grounds are beach/water front and have a stunning view of the water! After they validate your parking and take your picture, you’re escorted to your seat. I had a table to myself and seating up front due to my package. However, I was surprised that we were told to immediately go to the buffet to eat once we were seated. There was a good mix of Hawaiian and other foods and they even had chicken nuggets and mac and cheese for the non adventurous diners—many of whom seemed to be adults. The food was actually good, which can’t be said of every luau. While the included drink list was not extensive, the bar and drink station lines went quickly due to the venue having pre-made drinks so all you needed was to grab and go.
My only complaint was that the show seemed to take longer than it needed to because of the many breaks that happened during the evening. There were only two interactive stations that were open before the show, tattooing & game playing. They were not immediately obvious, so the emcee pointed them out. The emcee really made the evening and the dancing was great. A lot was learned about Hawaiian culture and language.
Parking for the luau costs $5 once your ticket is validated inside the luau. Thankfully, the parking gate was manned after the luau by a man who helped facilitate everyone’s parking payment and exit. Only credit cards are excepted, so come prepared to pay for your parking with plastic.

I love the Luau experience as they definitely blended some historical context and not just plain hula show.
The food is also good as they offer traditional hawaiian style food with some american meals. I am hoping that they can have other dessert options too. They have mai thai and other drinks as well.
As for the actual show I feel they are very lively and entertaining. I did not fall asleep 😀. They will also teach you some hula dance steps.
It can be a little pricey for a lot of people so I am hoping that prices won’t increase further and special rates are definitely highly appreciated.
I encourage everyone to try it and I am sure it won’t disappoint you.

We’ve been to a few luaus and this one has had the best food. Entertainment was well done and we liked that the seating space was on the smaller side - it meant everyone could see. Check in starts at 5:30 and we found out that is serious. We arrived just before 6 pm and entertainment was already under way. Oops. Very awkward to be seated when everyone else already had food and was watching the show. Good luau but a little expensive.

We have been taking friends and family when they come visit us in Kona to this luau for 22 years. When the luau was with King K Hotel it was wonderful. However, since they sold out it is a very poor luau. They rush you through, they have cut the show acts down 50%, they cut out the bowls of MaiTai, and the demonstrations prior to show almost non exitance. The price because the quality of the show is so poor, is really a ripoff. Do not waste your $175 per ticket plus processing fee of $32.00. I would suggest flying over to Oahu and going to the Polynesian Culture Center, For a little less, you can see demonstrations of each island culture, water parade, theater, beautiful buffet and a beautiful production show. It opens at noon and closes around 9. Worth every dime.

We attended this luau on our 3rd day in Hawaii. It’s a great way to start your vacation and set the mood for the week. The food was delicious, poke with taro, smoked shredded pork, various salads and side dishes, mai tais for the adults, juices for the kids. The entertainment was spectacular, highlighting the different dances and cultures of the multiple Polynesian islands with a fire dance at the end. The singing, dancing and live band were just wonderful. The setting at sunset on the Kailua bay was just beautiful. I’d highly recommend this activity for families to start you adventures in Hawaii!

My daughter, 2 1/2 years old, absolutely loves dance and particularly Hula. When we planned our family trip to the Big Island, I searched for an authentic Luau experience that would allow for my daughter to experience Hula from the land and people it originated from. It meant so much to us that we got to take part in a family activity that taught us about the culture and history of not just Hawaii but the other Polynesian islands. Seeing our daughter on her feet all night jumping and dancing for joy, laughing, and smiling the night away brought tears to our eyes. The dancers, musicians, singers, and performers did a wonderful job and this will be a memory we treasure for many many years to come! Mahalo to all those at Island Breeze Luau!

What a wonderful event for our last night in Hawaii. The dinner was beautifully and Covid safely served. The musicians were very accomplished and pleasant to listen to. The setting is lovely. The dancers- oh my goodness! Spectacular! They portrayed cultural dances not just from Hawaii but other Polynesian islands as well. Costumes were bright and beautiful and the dancers were so good!

This performances was amazing! You could feel it in your soul. The performers really put everything into each different segment of the show. The host was great they had yummy mai Thais and a well rounded variety of food. The show was awesome and the customer service was awesome and very accommodating. This is a great show to attend. We have been to other luaus, so this wasn't our first. The food was well above average, but the dancing was short, not too much Hawaiian hula, and very overproduced. There were no stories about why dancers do what they are doing, nothing about the symbolism, and too much kitsch. The next time we are on the big island we will find another luau. They do three on the island on different nights but the dancers, etc., are the same. The musicians were great.

The absolute worst Luau ever! The food sucked! They claim free drinks my wife and I ordered two chardonnays and then they said they ran out and could not get more, we left midway it was that bad! When I asked about it they simply said they would let the operator know. Please Skip!
