We drove to Schlegeis Stausee from Innsbruck. The way to the destination is very scenic. We have to stop at a traffic light and pay a toll. The toll road is one directional and we have to wait for our turn. As we drive towards...More

We went here on our last day and didn't have enough time to do all the walking we wanted. Bring an extra layer. Also, be aware that the bus can be packed and there is a bit of a scrum to get on

Amazingly massive dam which you Can walk across. Breathtaking views of The valley And lake. We only stopped quickly early evening so everything was shut up. Don’t walk across The dam if you’re scared of heights!!

I went by bus in September 2017 - note that if you have Zillertal Pass you need to pay the driver extra because the last part up to the dam is a toll road. Lovely walk around the lake and I recommend the Zamsereck Gasthof...More
