Get out in the forest when traveling through the Black Hills, you will not be disappointed. The towns, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and shopping are great-but the Forest is the reason all the rest exist. Take a hike to Roughlock Falls, get off the beaten path,...More

This is the place to be if you want to see the animals of South Dakota in their natural habitat. We saw deer, bison, antelope, a fox, turkeys, and the list goes on...

Part of our grand plan was to visit the Black Hills. We absolutely loved the scenery and the place. Such a pleasant and lovely drive throughout the hills and some beautiful spots to stop and take photos.

These folks do a great job at managing their Bison Herd. It was was wonderful to see hundreds of plains Bison, especially those that we could get photos up close.

Beautiful national forest in South Dakota. Great for motorcycle riding with winding roads, trees, hills, and beautiful scenery all around.

The national forest system is managed for "multiple use" and the Black Hills National Forest is a great reflection of that management philosophy. It includes fabulous recreation opportunities (camping, hiking, boating, hunting, fishing), timber management, watershed protection, wildlife management, and more. Beautiful vistas and scenery....More

We traveled 4 times before we saw the hoards, but it was worth it. It has a big amount of different wildlife and it was fun to see it. Recomend it to everyone.
