Good food and great music
Jan 2020
We went to Snug Harbor on the last night of a 5 day trip to NOLA. It really was a great retreat from the madness found in the Quarter. The food was good -- not the city's best, but we came for the music. Charmaine Neville was KILLING IT that cold and rainy night. I was with my 20-something kids and we all really enjoyed it. It feels like the real deal.

Great Jazz Club
Mar 2020
This seemed like one of the more serious Jazz Clubs. We were at a wonderful show by Charmaine Neville. She's a regular so check her out. It is a small but comfortable space with good sound. We loved it. The food in the restaurant is OK but not much more.

Awesome music, average food
Mar 2020
Came to see Ellis Marsalis pass the baton to his son, Jason. The performance was outstanding. NOLA jazz at its best. Had a burger first. Run of the mill for food.

Great jazz and great food
Dec 2019
This establishment features a big band jazz group "in residence" started by Ellis Marsalis. It is truly a great group of musicians, and the food is exceptional.

Great music, good enough food
Mar 2020 • Couples
You cannot eat in the jazz club area and seating inside is first come first serve. There are usually 2 shows, 8 and 10. It is best to come early if you want to eat and then go get your seat, although you can hear the music and watch on a screen in the bar. Basic, pretty good, bar food, although I must say, the baked potato that comes as your side was unexpected and great. We were there on Monday night which features Charmine Neville, daughter of one of the Neville brothers. She puts on a great show with an excellent backup band and lots of audience participation. We sat up in the balcony, but it is just 85 seats or so, so you can see and hear well where ever you were seated

Our server was the only good thing.
Feb 2020 • Friends
My friends and I went to this restaurant on Sunday evening February 9th while in New Orleans. We got a table right away. It took a little bit for our server to take our order, but he answered all our questions with a smile. 30 minutes later still no food. 40 minutes later we asked how much longer it was going to be - our server went to check. 45 minutes later We were told our food was being plated so would just be a couple minutes- we then asked to speak to a manager. The manager, Jay came over and said to us that he was told that we were waiting an extremely long time for our food and we asked if this was normal to wait this long. His reply was depending on what food we ordered and how many people were in the restaurant it could take this long. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived and two of us ordered chicken and one ordered a sandwich, and there were other people that arrived after us that were already getting their food. The manager then walked away with nothing else to say. Next we were told that our food was just coming off the grill so it would only be a couple more minutes. I found this odd because we were told earlier that our food was being plated. After waiting over an hour we did receive our food- the temperature of The food ranging from cold to extremely hot. Our server was extremely apologetic and we know it wasn’t his fault. The manager never approached us again, but our server did comp one of our meals.

Jazz Concert
Jan 2020
We wanted to go somewhere where the venue was about the music rather than talking and drinking. Snug Harbor was $25 per person and the Chris Thomas King Trio played for nearly 1.5 hours. We were totally engaged the whole time. It was a Friday night si Frenchmen Street was really hopping.

Uptown Jazz Orchestra - a MUST hear!
Jan 2020
In January, when my wife & I visited, the Uptown Jazz Orchestra played every Wednesday at Snug Harbor usually under the direction of Delfeayo of the legendary Marsalis family lineage. This was the best music we heard in NOLA during our 3-day visit. It's a ticketed event and an absolute gas! The venue opens at 7 for the 8pm performance and drinks are available throughout the evening. Delfeayo fronts the band really well. The music and musicians are engaging and entertaining. The band started their performance with the audience in the balcony, which is a great place to sit for the show. The band is really tight and is definitely on par with brother Wynton's LCJO - and a whole lotta fun!!

Delfeo Marsalis Big Band
Jan 2020
Walked in to see a 16 piece Delfeo Marsalis Big Band, with a woman singer. Small, but great intimate room. On a Wed night, there were more people in the band than in the audience, but a great set by great musicians. The singer was the highlight.
