Delightfull!

This rain forest is amazing with wild quail running around. Never knew typical house plants grow to 10+ feet tall in a rain forest.

Beautiful in the fall.
Oct 2021
Olbrich Botanical Gardens was beautiful in October. Many flowers were still in bloom and trees turning colors. Now we would like to return in the spring or summer for a whole different look.

October Visits
Oct 2021 • Family
Visited a couple times during same week. It was end of "season" and while definitely worth the visit made me wish we had been there "in season" Second visit was at night for the GLEAM light installation exhibit. The night event and tour of conservatory space did have fee but the outdoor gardens are free.

Peaceful afternoon
Sep 2021
It was a beautiful day to spend admiring all of the foliage in a very tranquil setting. I am planning a night trip back for the light sculptures available through October 2021.

Well Worth Your Visit
Sep 2021
Unfortunately, our visit was not during the most optimal time: it was raining and the early fall was setting in. It was difficult to get the full effect of the gardens under these conditions due to the end of the growing season and the rainy conditions.

You can tell a lot of care and effort goes into these gardens from the staff. The outside gardens are free and you have the freedom to take your time and enjoy the plants, paths, and statues. Well worth the visit. We were there later in the day and we did not visit the indoor facility.

What a gem. Beautiful and interesting gardens. Don't miss it. Astounding that the outdoor gardens are free admission. It's easy to spend the greater part of a day here.

Lovely Garden
Sep 2021 • Couples
Lovely garden with lots of paths. Many unusual flowers, many stone paths and nice little statues and buildings as well.

Olbrich Garden tour
Aug 2021
If you like any garden, you'll like Olbrich Gardens. It is large, and has a great deal of interesting plants. The Thai building is special and the walks are well designed so you feel it is not crowded even if a large number of people are there. It doesn't have the "wow" factor that I want for a fifth star.

Great free attraction
Sep 2021 • Couples
A surprisingly large urban garden showcasing a wide variety of perennial plants. It’s laid out in a way to encourage wandering and there is a lot to discover as you meander including the bucolic Thai pavilion that was gifted by a Taiwanese Alumni group in 2001. According to the signage, it is the only such building in North America. The 20 plus acres of the garden are free to wander. There is also a small tropical green house that costs $6 (although they do have reciprocity with other gardens-so we got in free). Probably not with $6-a couple of interesting orchids and a few small birds and koi but nothing special.

It’s definitely worth an hour or two if you are in the area.

Outstanding plantings bordering so many pathways. The Thai Pavilion is a must see. A tranquil experience: water features are a bonus. A delightful place for walking and unwinding. And, it's free!
