The beach is small and not the best place for swimming (or snorkeling). You can eat there and have a drink while lying on beach chairs on a concrete terrace, but that's pretty much it. If you're looking for a great beach experience, try virgin beach instead.

Went for a swim and a snorkel at Blue Lagoon yesterday. It wasn’t busy at all and our expectations were high as it was a really beautiful spot to swim and snorkel when we visited a few years ago.

Upon arrival we joined most of the other tourists in picking up garbage out of the ocean. There was a lot of garbage. Sad sight. What absolutely defeats me is why I saw no locals joining in.... it is low season and combined with the corona situation it means there are very few tourists around, leaving the tourism industry with next to nothing to do. Why not clean the place up? Why not invest a bit of time in what drives the business? Show the visitors that you care about this place too?

Anyways after 20 minutes of beach and ocean cleaning we went for a snorkel. Had a good 10-15 minutes, but it ended abruptly as we came by a sunken plastic bag which appeared to be full of used nappies. Said bag was quite likely also the source of the floaters we subsequently noticed on the surface. Oof.

We’re not going back there again and I’m pretty sure we’re not the only ones. Such a shame. This place was once so beautiful. It still is from afar, but as you get closer it really disappoints!

Everywhere just plastic. On the beach, in the ocean. If you go there, go by boat and you'll be outside the plastic.

Went to this area by a traditional boat from Candidasa to snorkel and spotted a turtle on the way. As we did not go onto the beach can only review the lagoon. The water was clear and clean. Saw only a couple of pieces of rubbish. The amount of fish and the variety of fish were amazing. The fish come up very close to you as you enter the water. I believe some people may feed them. There is a lot of coral but only some small patches of coloured coral as so much of it has been affected. It was good to see that there is some regrowth of coral on the artificial reefs that have been placed in the water. It is a very popular area so best to go early as the water is usually calmer and less boats coming in.

This bay is beautiful, but you have to swim through garbage to look at it. The amount of floating garbage. Minimum wage is 2 mill a month - surely this place that charges for entry and parking, as well as food and beverage ( let’s say we spent 1 mill) I’m not sure what else to say....

I have snorkelled numerous places in Bali and this is not a good place to snorkel. My husband and I spent our snorkel time collecting rubbish from the water. I have never seen so much garbage in the water anywhere in Bali. Maybe at one time it nice but now, I think it is advertised as great snorkeling to pull people to the area. I would not recommend snorkeling or diving here.

The Blue Lagoon Bali is the most rubbish snorkeling area I've ever been to. Literally rubbish. I just went and there was so much trash floating around. It's truly heart-breaking what's happening to our oceans.

My husband and I were driving up to B;ue Lagoon beach only to be stopped by a man throwing a ticket through the window and demanding money to be allowed to drivve past the bay. When we said no he became threatening and two more or less forced us backwards out of the area. I have now read other reviews of how this has changed. There are so many wonderful places to see I would give this a miss.

Pretty little beach close to Padangbai harbor and centre. The cafes offer cheap snorkeling gear and loungers as well as decent food. Lots of colorful fish to discover. Best in the early morning or evening.

Best recommendation for here is to access by boat. That will take you directly to the snorkeling area. You don’t even have to do much to see all the fish. They just follow you around. Unfortunately being in a cove like that there is a small amount of plastic floating around but we have been to many areas of the world and its almost impossible not to see some kind of plastic in the ocean. Still a very nice place to snorkel for at least an hour.....
