The quiet and beautiful water village
Jun 2015 • Friends
This ancient village is about one hour away from Shanghai town area by car. If you are taking public transport, take the metro to Huaqiao station (花桥站) and take bus (游七路线) to JinXi bus station. From the bus station (while you are facing the bus terminal) , walk to your right hand side and then turn left. Go straight and you will come to a row of shops in front of you, proceed to your left until you come to the entrance of the water village where you need to pay an entrance fee (or you may come late evening to avoid paying it). But bear in mind that the bus to Jinxi town is only until certain time.

This village is not big and not commercialized like other water villages. I found that people here are very friendly and easy-going. Basically all the shops here close by 7pm except a bar and cafe owned by the boss of the youth hostel which i stayed in. The youth hostel is named as 昆山锦溪国际青年旅舍.It was a pleasant stay and the boss was very friendly. I rented a dorm bed at 80rmb per day.

At night, the streets were all quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed a lot with the scenery and silence here. It was a great time having a cup of coffee at the little cafe owned by the youth hostel owner while enjoying the night breeze. If you want to rest your mind, this place is definitely suitable for you!

Beautiful Water Town - a must see for visitors to Kunshan!
Apr 2013 • Business
While locals recommended Zhouzhuang (which I went to as well) I found Jinxi a quaint water town less congested with tourists when I went. Beautiful flowers, fabulous boat rides with the locals and an overall feel of the love the man who built this area up for his concubine had. Definitely worth the visit! Beautiful!
