Everybody should share in these beautiful spots. One is great for hiking and viewing, and the other for walking, running, picnicking.

This is a beautiful place to escape the bustle of the city. The grounds are well cared for and the trails are a relaxing place to enjoy a walk. The mansion is lovely and accessible, and would be a great place for a special event....More

Cylburn is an unexpected treasure in the city. While it's always a pleasant spot for a walk, the arboretum really shines in the springtime as the masses of naturalized daffodils come into bloom, along with showy magnolias and diminutive wildflowers. Recent investments in the nature...More

Our church youth had never been, so we traveled to the W. Northern Pkwy exit of I-83 and went to what was once a summer estate, a home for abandoned children, a park, and now, an Arboretum. Plan three hours easily if you want to...More

I had heard of the arboretum. I was in the area so I took a look. It was a nice oasis in the city although there were a few spots that could use some tidying up. Some of the trails are not marked well either....More

We stopped here as a family of five, with three boys ages 7,5 and 5. Our visit lasted 90 minutes, and could have easily lasted another 90 minutes. We only left b/c my wife was getting cranky and wanted dinner. There is a nice little...More

The grounds are peaceful, with the particular appeal of providing many resting spots/benches, as well as walking paths through the woods. It is not a big property, but I did see a plant or two that I did not recognize. This is a tucked away...More

The grounds were in pretty rough shape, and the mansion was just open, no lights on or anything. I thought there might be a brochure or something, but there wasn't. Everything opens at different hours too.

The arboretum is a bit small, and not too exotic, you can take your time and still spend less then 1 hour which is good for small childrens attention. Ample parking. You can spend more time walking thru the park outside. Admision is a $5...More

Yes, there’s a free lot next to the nature center, off the turnaround. Usually, there’s no problem finding a space.

I asked at the Visitor center. They poinyed out locations of picnic tables, but invited us to spread a blanket anywhere or sit pn the grass if we wished. The staff isn't stuffy, and they are helpful to inquirers.
