I was hoping for a great visit since the reviews were highly favorable. My wife and I have visited many old mansions since we live in the south, Atlanta GA. We first stopped at the visitors center, there was no one at the desk to...More

Lovely morning at the gardens of Cylburn, the old mansion and gardens of a wealthy bachelor, nestled quietly amidst the traffic of Baltimore. Easy to park, convenient bathrooms, plenty of benches, groomed paths and educational plant signage. August is the best month for the Dahlia...More

This is a beautiful place to escape the bustle of the city. The grounds are well cared for and the trails are a relaxing place to enjoy a walk. The mansion is lovely and accessible, and would be a great place for a special event....More

Cylburn is an unexpected treasure in the city. While it's always a pleasant spot for a walk, the arboretum really shines in the springtime as the masses of naturalized daffodils come into bloom, along with showy magnolias and diminutive wildflowers. Recent investments in the nature...More

Our church youth had never been, so we traveled to the W. Northern Pkwy exit of I-83 and went to what was once a summer estate, a home for abandoned children, a park, and now, an Arboretum. Plan three hours easily if you want to...More

I had heard of the arboretum. I was in the area so I took a look. It was a nice oasis in the city although there were a few spots that could use some tidying up. Some of the trails are not marked well either....More

We stopped here as a family of five, with three boys ages 7,5 and 5. Our visit lasted 90 minutes, and could have easily lasted another 90 minutes. We only left b/c my wife was getting cranky and wanted dinner. There is a nice little...More

The grounds are peaceful, with the particular appeal of providing many resting spots/benches, as well as walking paths through the woods. It is not a big property, but I did see a plant or two that I did not recognize. This is a tucked away...More

Yes, there’s a free lot next to the nature center, off the turnaround. Usually, there’s no problem finding a space.

I asked at the Visitor center. They poinyed out locations of picnic tables, but invited us to spread a blanket anywhere or sit pn the grass if we wished. The staff isn't stuffy, and they are helpful to inquirers.
