Best place to start in Gettysburg. Great information and overview. Plenty of parking. Well informed rangers and docents. Could easily spend the day here!

My grandchildren paid rapt attention to the movie and cyclorama and were moderately interested in the museum. This was a great way for the kids (10 and 12) to understand both the reason for the Civil War and the local battle.

Excellent museum. Give yourself 4 hours (at least!) to get through this museum. There is so much information that you could easily spend days here. The cyclorama is somewhat a disappointment until you realise that the real spectacle here is the fact that this is...More

There is a fairly good food service at the visitor center. Multiple options for food in town a few miles away. Parking when it's busy may be a good walk from the center (there are several different parking lots) so eating... More
