We came to see where Abraham Lincoln delivered his infamous Gettysburg Address. Great experience to walk these hallowed grounds.

I was amazed at the number of unknown soldiers, buried row by row, just 2 feet apart. Makes you realize how wasteful war is.

We had a hard time finding the location of the Lincoln speech. Maps sent us to the east side of the cemetery, which either involves a very long walk or a significant drive.

Interesting to take a walk through. We finished our day here with taps for the evening. Did not use a guide but I bet there is a lot to learn here if you do.

Rich with American history and heartbreaking in its magnitude of loss. ALOT of walking so be prepared with snacks and water. Watch where you step! Tree roots can trip you and, as I found out, no one will come to your aid or express concern...More

Amazing well kept up cemetary. It was amazing to think we were at the spot where Lincoln gave his Gettysburg address back in 1863. Lots of beautiful monuments and beautiful views. Kids weren't as thrilled as the adults, but they were still able to walk...More

If you go to Gettysburg, this has to be near or at the top of your list of places to visit! The minute you walk past the gates, the beauty, the peacefulness, and the symbolism in the layout of the cemetery - words don't do...More

We visited Gettysburg National Cemetery as part of a recent vacation there. The cemetery was very serene. Unfortunately when we were there in early June there were a lot of school kids on field trips in Gettysburg in the battlefield area. They were mostly obnoxious...More

So sad to see the expanse of graves for a three day battle. Each grave is a story of service above all else no matter which side they represented. The state markers are very nice.

When we walked into the Gettysburg National Cemetery, quiet was requested out of respect for the dead. That only added to our solemn journey through the monuments and gravestones. The cemetery was designed in the shape of a semi-circle with both officers and soldiers buried...More

Gettysburg Museum was really good and should be seen first as we did. It's $14 for adults which gets you the movie, cyclorama and museum collection. The park is free and there are so many monuments to stop and see. Plan on a... More
