We took the self-guided tour (buy the booklet at the museum for $30.00) but night unfortunately fell. We managed to take half of the tour (so start early) and got to this spot at eventide. The sunset, red as the battlefields of then, was awesome....More

Little Round Top and Big Round Top is a great vantage point to see the Battlefield. From there you can imagine a Confederate front at least a mile wide, several soldiers deep, marching towards the Union Front with guns blazing.

Great to see. Helps you understand that battle fought there between northern and southern forces in the civil war.

This is a must see. I took my teenage girls and they were able to appreciate the importance of what took place here. It does get quite a bit of traffic so parking can be challenging and walking is mandatory here.

This was my favourite part of the tour. A great view of what those men faced as the confederates rolled out of the trees. Dont miss it

July 1863. A relatively small, yet strategic hill outside of Gettysburg was the scene of one of the most important battles of the Civil War. Walking up and standing atop the hill, viewing the battlefield and the boulders of Devil’s Den you can try and...More

And a viewpoint over the battles. Now a rounded hill with history all around. Peaceful compared to the nasty events of the day.

We have been to Little Round Top several times and have never been disappointed. If you get a chance take a free tour from the park service. Sometimes parking can be a bit challenging- so make sure to arrive a few minutes early.

Too appreciate the battle you truly need to walk around Little Round Top AND Round Top. Can only imagine what it must have been like in 1863.

You can take driving tour, or hike from museum center. If you decide to drive, you can get out of the car and walk around. You can hike as much or as little as you desire. The next time we go back, we will hire a private... More
