This monument is a good and detailed design. Plus some history of one of the major groups. I don't glorify war, but neither should we forget the principles and values being fought over which shaped the country.

Many dynamic and grand memorials, including this one, were everywhere on the battlefields. It was sunny and warm during the day and pleasant to wander about.

The Virginia Memorial overlooks the field where Pickett's Charge took place. The artwork on the statues is wonderful.

In my opinion this is probably one of the most magnificant memorials at Gettysburg. One can only hope that it survives all the hoopla of monument removal.
