A 1914 steam locomotive, cracker house, boatworks building, old general store, schoolhouse, and a courthouse to walk through. The day we visited, there was also a sweet cat, and a rooster crowing on the property! Interesting history.

As a frequent winter visitor to the area have wanted to visit the park for some time. A chilly but sunny morning provided the perfect opportunity for walking the grounds and building interiors. Found locating the entrance and parking area a little convoluted. The admission...More

Free! (Bonus) Self guided tours. (You choose pace) get a sampling of life in that time. I enjoyed the House. The brick paths & trees are pretty, too.

We spent a most enjoyable hour exploring the buildings and the historical artefacts that fill this small site on the edge of Bradenton (14th Street East on the SR64). Mostly original buildings that have been saved and moved to this location. Lots of information on...More

This is a location where, with the exception of the Hotel/Store, historic buildings have been brought together, from other locations, and re-built in an attempt to show a typical grouping or setting. Its very well done and well worth the visit. It helps keep history...More

The hours are 9am-4pm. Closed Sunday. There is no fee but they do ask for a donation. A donation helps keeps this open air museum open. $5 is not unreasonable for a look at old Florida.
