I only came to Mezzrow because when you buy a ticket for Smalls you also get access to Mezzrow and I must say I liked it even better. The music was great and the place less crowded and more class. Really nice.
We went on a Wednesday jam night and it was amazing. Completely changed my views on jazz on both an entertainment and professional level.
The band was fantastic and the jam session that followed was just packed with amazing musicians. Shows you the breadth of...More
I was determined to visit a Jazz Club in my first visit to NYC. My first choice had been Smalls, but as it was full, the guy at the door advised us to go to Mezzrow, just a few meters away across the avenue. I...More
Mezzrow provided me with one of the best live music experiences of my life! Sitting within arm’s length of incredibly talented musicians while listening to amazing jazz and drinking good beer was a great way to spend $10!

During our annual visit to NYC we were looking for some night life in the SoHo district area. We found it with the Mezzrow Jazz club. This little hole-in-the-wall really blew us away with the talent. The night we visited we had tickets for Luis...More
We've been to Smalls many times and decided to check out Mezzrow. We made a reservation for the listening room and arrived 40 minutes before the show. After we were seated and ordered drinks, the host came by and told us he needed to move...More
Mezzrow is a small club with huge coverage of jazz greats in their schedule. We go there at least once or twice a month. They have a quiet policy that makes it very enjoyable for appreciation of the music and the musicians. No real food...More
What a wonderful place to go hear live jazz--tiny, intimate, real. Get there at least 30 minutes early to get a good seat up close; when you make a reservation or get there early to buy a ticket, it's first-come, first-served. For those asking about...More
I have been to Mezzrow twice, both times the jazz was excellent. Tiny little space - which makes it great, IMHO. A nice tiny bar with some fun craft cocktails (try the pink peppercorn gin and earl grey with lavender - out of this world).Additional...More
My second time hear, coming from overseas. Music is great. Sits not so much. But the problem is listening. People in the bar talk so loudly we could not even hear the piano. Talked to the management, no action. Shame.
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
If you see a show at Mezzrow, they offer you a voucher to get into Small's for free later that night Mezzrow ends earlier and Small's continues until late. They are a class act, the owners. Very hospitable to all.

There are two parts to the venue - the bar area and the seating area. The seating area, which has a cover charge, is a small room where the performance takes place, and where you can get table service. The bar area is either free or there is a much reduce cover, depending on the performer. The bar area does not have good views and there is much conversation. I suggest a rez for the table room, but if the show is not sold-out, you can purchase the cover at time of show.
