Very rude staff but great inventory. Had great lighting and well organized. Huge display of socks, book marks and book bags. No doubt they cater toward “left leaning” clients.

Hidden away on a side street near Union Square there it is. Surrounded by bins of $1 books the narrow doors beckon one inside. This store is for book lovers only. All others will most likely be in and out in thirty minutes or less....More

No trip to New York is ever complete without a stop at the Strand. There are so many floors to explore that you can get lost . . . in a good way.

Any book lover would come to worship in this store. It's huge and full of all sorts of treasures to tempt you. Hard to leave without a big bag of books.
