If you travel the full length of the High Line it will bring you out at The Vessel and Hudson Yards. This is a rather fancy shopping centre. I had a wander around and there are lots of high end, exclusive stores like Cartier. I was travelling on a budget so I was not able to buy anything from the stores but it was nice to have a browse. I also got to use their wifi to stay connected so that was a plus point.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 5 December 2023
- catherineBrighton, United Kingdom13 contributionsSparkling new shopping mallWe went to the shopping mall as we were there to visit The Edge observation deck. The shopping centre seemed very new with a mix of expensive designer shops and other more affordable shops (Levi's, H&M, Zara etc). There were some great views of The Vessel from the atrium. There was a good mix of cafes and restaurants. I would have loved to stay longer.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 December 2023
- dustythoughtsManchester, Connecticut2,164 contributionsFancy new mallThis fancy new mall was a pleasant way to spend part of an afternoon in dreary weather. We came here on Christmas, so most of the shoppes were closed, but there were a couple of restaurants open, so it was really busy with people wandering around and queueing for their reservations. The entire mall was decorated with holiday lights, making for a pleasant place to stroll. It'll be nice to come back when the shoppes are open.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 December 2023
- Alison SSpringfield, Massachusetts1,018 contributionsInteresting collection of upscale shopsBrowsed the mall before dinner and a show at The Shed. Unfortunately the beautiful "Vessel" in the courtyard is closed, but still pretty to look at. Little Spain has food vendors and restaurants displaying gorgeous and intriguing wares - pastries, thousand dollar ham, octopus, etc. Usual upscale retailers - Coach, Tiffany, LuluLemon - plus some interesting oriental stores selling clothing, stationery, housewares, etc. Good selection of restaurants also.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 January 2024

Dynamic space has a mostly upscale mall to loose yourself in for a day, performing arts spaces(some for free) and museum exhibitions in The Shed, The Vessel helix(limited access by ticket). A great place to spend a day or evening in all seasons. Do NOT fall for ticket hustlers here. Access is free. Short walk to Chelsea Piers and boat tours, High Line, Little Island and Chelsea Market for a very full day.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 June 2024
- Bryce SNew Hope, Pennsylvania2,218 contributions5th Avenue shopping in a five floor mallWe visited Hudson Yards on Friday. There is a spectacular, five story shopping mall. The interior is very modern, elegant and easy to get around. You can find almost every luxury brand you can name. There is a Tiffany, Cartier, Rolex, Van Kleef and Arpel, Louis Vuitton and Fendi, to name a few. There are two floors of restaurants, floors #4 and #5. Expect things will be on the expensive side. We stopped for cappuccinos, priced at $5.75. This is an enjoyable shopping experience, even if you are only window shopping.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2024

Hands down one of the worst additions to New York in a decade. First, who goes there.....a few tourists? Maybe a few New Yorkers will return to the Shed and Little Spain for tapas? Little Spain is actually excellent...sadly... empty now. Hudson Yards is a soon to be completely bankrupted dead zone and has nothing to do with New York or what's left of it as luxury tower developers engulf the city and price out the actual inhabitants and businesses that make this city great. The architecture is ugly, sterile and completely unimaginative. Imaginative buildings would have taken more money to build and Related Companies, who developed Hudson Yards, is all about saving a buck, thus more boring glass and steel. The 1980's would be proud. The "mall" is just another ode to duty free shops at an airport. Why would you schlep all the way over to 11th ave to buy a Rolex? Currently, the shops are empty with lonely doormen.

So it's a shopping mall with stores that you could find in a lot of other cities. Lots of people walking around but not many people shopping so the workers did not have much to do. Best site I found was the new Little Spain with Spanish foods and wines to eat and drink in a central cafe.

I have a feeling Hudson Yards was built simply to lure in tourists. It’s definitely not a NYC “must” and I doubt many locals bother to spend any time there unless drug there by out-of-town guests (ok...I did that exact thing!). With that being said, it is new and clean and it’s lots of shopping available.

Dear SJAinPA, Thank you for your review. It seems you were able to at least enjoy the novelty, cleanliness, and variety of the shopping options available at Hudson Yards – that’s a start, for sure. And all thanks to your out-of-town guests! Sometimes they make us do things we wouldn’t ordinarily do… We’ll be here if you want to explore Hudson Yards a bit more, whether you are brought here by a guest or your own curiosity. If you decide to return, stop by our Concierge Desk on level 1 at The Shops when we reopen. Our concierges are committed to helping you find something special during your visit, whether you are a tourist or a local resident. We hope to see you again here soon!

The area is clearly undergoing some upgrading and redevelopment. We popped into the shopping centre, as we both wanted to use the facilities, so we didn't actually eat here.
We had looked at the Vessel - brilliant bit of structure, shame it was closed to the public, as we really wanted to ride in the elevator.
We did look round the shopping centre and there are some good brands represented there. We went into the Watches of Switzerland and it was very tempting to see the rather nice timepieces on display.
Thankfully for my wallet, we soon set out for the Highline.

I arrived in time to be in the audience of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday after which I had dinner at Junior's on Broadway. After visiting the United Nations and other sites on Friday I had dinner with friends at their home in West Harlem. On Saturday I visited the restaurant that was the exterior location for the coffee shop on "Seinfeld." I then went to visit Little Island and walked the skyline to the Vessel in Hudson Yards where I had lunch at the Bodega on the lowest level. Saturday evening attended the final performance of the season of Lohengrin at The Metropolitan Opera. After the opera I took the train to Washington, D.c.

We really enjoyed seeing The Vessel at Hudson Yards. Tickets are free and are obtained on line for a specific time. When we arrived, there was a 45 minute wait until the next entrance. We window-shopped at the stores across the street which were very expensive. Not a great mall, though. More of a destination to go to a particular store. Great views from The Vessel and lots of photo opportunities.

Dear 470Carold thank you for your review and for visiting Hudson Yards! It seems you enjoyed seeing Vessel. Wonderful! As you know, it was designed by Thomas Heatherwick and comprised of 154 interconnected staircases. But what to do with the extra 45 minutes you had prior to entering... there’s plenty at Hudson Yards, and we hope we can provide some meaningful options the next time you visit. Our concierges on Level 1 of the Shops are here to do exactly that. We look forward to welcoming you back!

We walked along the High Line from Chelsea Market to Hudson Yards. What a great reclaimed space from a railroad storage area. Upscale shops and restaurants are available for visitors. Scaling the Vessel is a good way to enjoy the view and tickets can be purchased online in advance. Even if you skip the Vessel, look out on the Hudson River and nearby skyscrapers. I hope to return one day to see where ongoing construction takes Hudson Yards.

Dear Anne O, thank you for your review! We are thrilled that you had a wonderful experience! As a further fact to your observation, Hudson Yards is built over the Long Island Railroad tracks with foundations that are drilled inside the bedrock of the tracks. The second half of Hudson Yards will be built on top of the Western Yards. The views around the neighborhood will be further amplified with the opening of our observation deck, Edge on March 11th. Tickets are available to pre-purchase as well. We look forward to your return to Hudson Yards!
