I was headed for the green market at Union Square last week when I decided to first walk through Union Square Park and find a bench in the shade. It was a very hot day and I wanted to sit and have a refreshment before...More

After a little research I found out that this square celebrated the union of Broadway and Bowery Road. It’s a busy square with shops like DSW and restaurants. On this trip I noticed men playing chess and backgammon. Perhaps this is how the locals pass...More

Nice park here. Good place to sit down and have lunch, and especially people watch. There are so many people coming and going, it is interesting to watch all of the hustle.

Recommend taking a stroll to Union square. They have a market most days which sell all kinds of food, flowers etc. Just nice to sit and view the world go by.

There are a lot of parks and areas in Manhattan that are more interesting. Too much craziness going on here except for the holiday market which is worth visiting.

I personally think Union Square is too far from the Freedom Tower and 911 to walk to. Central Park is even further away. In either case you'll be most likely using the subway or taxi. Central Park is close to the Museum... More
