Seeing the Kneeling Fireman on 9-11 week was very moving and beautiful. Confused as to its location, as closer to the 9-11 memorial would have seemed more appropriate and easier for others to see, however, I am so glad we stopped and took a moment...More

A very nice monument to firefighters, with an interesting history (read the wall plaque to find out more). It won't bring anyone to tears, and its location is off the beaten path, but it's simplicity and honesty make it a worthwhile stop.

This kneeling fireman on 43rd street is a tribute to all those very brave men that saved and continue to save countless lives. There is a plaque describing the history and story and does choke you up. Came across this by chance.

I stumbled across this statue while walking to the PABT. It is a powerful and moving statue. There is a plaque that tells the history of the statue and there is also a plaque with the Firefighter's Prayer.

As a former firefighter, this tore my heart out. We walked (over 30 miles in 3 days) and passed many small stations. We paused at each for a silent prayer. We came across the statue unexpectedly. It took my breath away.
