A nice park like there are many in New York. Nothing extraordinary except a fountain and the City Hall. But it’s still a corner of greenery in the center of the city that’s always pleasant to settle.

We came upon City Hall Park after our stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. It provided a wonderful addition to our evening, as we walked through the lovely green-spaces and past the beautiful fountain to our subway station on the other side. I highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful park, fountain and resting spot after an invigorating walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. In addition, there are lots of ice cream trucks and a Starbucks right across the street, so you can grab a cone or enjoy a coffee and pastry in the park on a nice day. Very clean and inviting, right in front of City Hall.

I went to the park with my family hoping to enjoy the afternoon, but the park is closed. I was very annoyed, and I don’t know whether it’s temporary or permanent, but we walked along the perimeter and admired City Hall.

We just happened to stop at City Hall Park for a quick rest. Sitting on a bench, the surrounding vistas struck me. Surprising dimensions of NY's architectural history can be discovered from here, like the evolution of ziggurat style (along Broadway, starting with the Woolworth Building) or decorated skyscrapers (along Center Street, ending with Frank Gehry's NY at the back). St. Paul's Chapel, City Hall and the Judicial district are also on view. I know, it's fairly specialized as a review but all of this is also pretty.

I passed by this park for several minutes.
It is a nice place for relaxing, just near the city hall.
There is a fountain and a lot of squirrels running near the branches and the trees.

This is a pretty park, a nice place to sit and enjoy the people going by. They have periodic art exhibits and there is free Wi-Fi. A nice place to take a break if you are touring the downtown area.

An oasis of greenery in the bustling Financial District in the lower Manhattan area of New York City, City Hall Park is a nice place to relax and take it all in.

Amid Manhattan's landmark skyscrapers, the small City Hall Park is like an urban oasis. This lush, pleasant green area offers a serene view of the Big Apple as well as a perfect point of respite while exploring the American city.

I visited the park last Sunday evening 8/27 on a trip to New York and was disappointed to see that the gas lamps were not lit. I remember how beautiful they were the last time I visited back in 2003. Are they only lit on certain days?

Sorry, I can't help you with this. I haven't been in that area after dark in very many years.
