Visiting the biggest aircraft
Amazing visit. Family with 4 little kids. Lot's to see. Air planes, tour inside the ship and options to climb few of the planes. Lot's of buttons to push for the little ones 😉. Lot's of guide in every spot. We spent 5 hours there. Warmly recommend.

My friend and I were in San Diego on 9/11/21 and we had the tour. They also had a very nice ceremony in the afternoon for 9-11. Very informative and enlightening tour. Had a great time. Exhausting, but very good. Stairs....stairs....stairs....

Very unique and amazing place! Must see...

This is a one-of-a-kind experience. It is worth the price of admission even if you only have several hours to tour the ship. The history and experiences of the sailors that served on this ship are prominently portrayed. The docents are first-rate and have great insights to share about the ship. Be sure to go to Bridge tour and the below decks areas. Very impressive!

Great tribute & learning experience!!
Awesome preservation & ann BK ilitt to see so many parts of the ship as well as many planes from the era. Go early in the day before the heat of the day. Definitely see the video they play - makes you choke up. We. Everyone needs to visit and understand what sacrifices were made!!

Don’t MissThisGem, Set Aside a Full Day!

If you are ever in San Diego with a full free day, you must tour the USS Midway Museum. I’ve wanted to do this for years and finally did! It is a fantastic museum and the docents are absolutely some of the best I’ve ever run across. It is probably no exxageration to say I spent more than 90 minutes learning from various docents. (One fellow, Nguyen, walked with me after his shift to point out so many different things I might have missed…and answered all my questions.) The gentleman in the used bookstore, which you can easily miss, was another wealth of info! He’s read most of the books and can give a list of benefits of reading each! $26 is a steal for what you get from this gem.

Best ship Museum and interactive displays I have ever seen.
Sep 2021
Visited on 9/11 20 year anniversary weekend. Lots of experienced military members who actually served on this ship in its glory to talk too. Flight deck is fully equipped with aircraft of the era. Flight simulator downstairs had long lines but worth the wait.

We spent almost 4 hours exploring the ship. The self-guided audio tours are excellent. The huge number of aircraft are fascinating for flight buffs.

Amazing history lesson and a testament to American ingenuity!
The aircraft carrier is HUGE! A history lesson stemming back from World War 2. A look at a ship that was commissioned in 1945 and ended service after the first gulf war. The airplanes on display were from the propeller driven aircraft of World War 2 to the Grumman F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet. I have to mention the A-6 Intruder and EA-6B Prowler as the were impressive attack and counter-surveillance aircraft.

Amazing to see how the sailors lived everyday on this ship from cramped bunks, cramped mess, post offices, barber shops, small showers, etc. Hats off to all sailors that had served or are currently serving.

Thank you to the tour guides who are veterans and have served in the US military. Special thanks to Razor and The Bobfather who described the catapult launch system and to Mark who took us through the Bridge.

Very interesting

Make sure you see the movie. It was very good. Lots of planes and helicopters to look at. I really enjoyed the lower deck of the ship to see how the men lived and slept. If you go on a busy day, go to the Island (upper deck) first. They have limited capacity (20 people at a time) so if it is really crowded you may not get to tour this part of the ship.
