About
Named the #1 Ballpark in America by USA Today in 2016! Petco Park is spectacular in every way, combining the best sight lines in baseball with breathtaking views of San Diego. Architecturally magnificent, it celebrates the sea, the sky, the natural beauty, cultural diversity and unique spirit of our region. We’ve made a concerted effort to not only make this the best ballpark in America, but also one of the best entertainment destinations. Located in downtown San Diego, its surrounded by a plethora of bars and restaurants and is within walking distance of the Convention Center, Seaport Village and Waterfront Park.

Beautiful baseball stadium! I went with a group of friends from work to watch the Padres vs. Diamondbacks game back in mid July. Padres won 4-3! We bought nose bleed seats, but never sat there. We walked around the whole Park to get views from different angles - all views were great! We actually stood for most of the game. Before the game began, we visited the Padres Hall of Fame and took in some of the other statues and venues there. Food and drink abound here. Watched the fireworks show after the game was over - Star Wars themed. Very nice time!

Thor - our tour guide - was great. Knowledgeable, humorous, engaging with group. It was very interesting and great to see behind the scenes. If possible, recommend doing the tour when the Padres are out of town so you can see the clubhouse as well.

I was at concert of Red Hot Chili Peppers and despite of great artists sound was so so bad. The sound is just awful, it rattles, rumbles, absolutely no mid and high frequencies can be heard. The concert was completely ruined. And it was observed in all parts of the stadium. Terrible sound! I do not understand how you can arrange a concert in such conditions. This is a mockery of the audience and musicians.
We had to walk away in the middle of the show even though they are my favorite band.

After hearing raves about this ballpark, we planned an overnight trip to visit and see a game. I went with the semi cheap seats and have regrets.

But first, the stadium is in San Diego's beautiful gas lamp district with a hotels that make walking to and from the park an excellent option. Because of this I don't know anything about parking at the stadium. I think there's a structure nearby? We stayed at a hotel and walked.

Ok Section 227. Great outfield view...that's IF no one is going up and down the stairs ...or worse just standing in the aisles during play. There are no ushers or stadium workers keeping people from doing this out there. We missed a lot of the game because or view was obstructed by bodies.

Also this section has very limited food choices - just one generic stand and the Budweiser beer patio. Good if you don't want to eat but just want to drink. If you want specific food you have to go up or down to another section. Even those were limited. I could not find ANYONE selling ice cream other than odd flavored dipping dots a section over out of a cart. Horrible variety near us. I don't want to spend 30+ mins walking to another section, standing in line, and walking back to my seats.

I want to give the park another try, but I'd never sit where we were or nearby. Maybe the more expensive seats have ushers? Hopefully better food choices too!

The team store is pretty neat and a good size - you can get in there before a game and shop. Prices are crazy high though. Oh well.

Padres won that night!

Was a great tour at one of the finest ballparks I have ever been too. You really get to see some interesting things on the tour. Hall of Fame was excellent. If I knew people visiting I would definitely recommend.

I love this place. They have a lot of activities for kids and the vibe is all about fun, fun, fun. I've not been to a baseball game since I was a kid. When they played take me out to the ball game during the 7th inning stretch it brought back all those great memories with my dad as a kid.

By far one of the best baseball parks I’ve ever been to! If you go to a day game, I’d advise sitting on the 3rd base side. Some of the best seats are in the 200 even numbered sections. You’ll want to be about 6 or 7 rows back. Found great prices on StubHub on the morning of the game and sat in section 208. GREAT SEATS!

We were first-time visitors to the park for a game. The signage indicating seating areas was totally confusing, and we ended up walking all the way around trying to find our seats. The whole area around the ballpark was very crowded, congested. We took a "jitney" to the park, leaving our car elsewhere. That was fun, but not inexpensive. Jitneys were readily available, and I advise negotiating. There were some giveaways during the game, but they seemed to be concentrated in one area, which was disappointing. The seats were OK. Fortunately, no one was sitting in front of me. Did I have fun? Yes. Was it a super experience? No.

While in San Diego I was able to catch a ballgame between the San Diego Padres and the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a Wednesday afternoon game, so it wasn't that crowded. It is a very modern ballpark and very clean ballpark. I was in section 220 and had great views of the field. There is a wide variety of food but being an old school baseball fan, had the classic hot dog and drink. I was very impressed with Petco Park, in future if my team the Chicago White Sox play there on a weekend, I will definitely go back to see the game. If you are a baseball fan, this is a must while in San Diego.
