Some authentic, some questionable. Nothing compares to being in Italy but walking the streets and trying the eats and treats, we could really tell which restaurants were authentic and which were just there for the tourists. Overall, merchandise is chachky-touristy items.

There is some good food, though there are so many restaurants it's hard to choose where to go. On weekends it is pretty crowded, you can barely walk on the sidewalk.
By reading reviews online I was under the impression that Little Italy was somehow "fancier" than Gaslamp, but I found the opposite, I would describe Little Italy more "cozy" since everything is more tight together and crowded. Gaslamp is more spacious and most restaurants feel like a better a level up from Little Italy.

Lots of restaurants and fake Italian accents. Service was horrible and slow, definitely a good tourist restaurant area, but I had better Italian food at the Mission Bay area.

Little Italy was great to go to. We ate at Mona Lisa's and enjoyed it immensely. The jets coming into SAN fly so close to the buildings!!! So much fun. Great wines and different places made it an enjoyable evening for all.

Not my first time to San Diego, but it was my first time to Little Italy.....tons of places to eat, but if you go on a weekend night, expect a long wait. Very nice area and lots of places to eat.

Many street people in this area and many are volatile so be aware of your surroundings. Lots of great places to eat. Only irritating street parking availability but pricing is not horrible if you can find a spot.

The neighborhood consists of several blocks of Italian restaurants and wine shops. Nothing special. It’s clean, safe, family-friendly, but nothing to write home about.

Our guide, Cynthia, was wonderful, very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. This walking culinary tour let us experience a variety of great Italian specialties. We’ve been to San Francisco many times, but never experienced North Beach from this perspective.

Not really a full blown Chinatown. But by the Chinese Historical Museum south of the gaslight district is the place to visit.

Filippi's Pizza Grotto is possibly the oldest and most popular. Walk through the little grocery store to the back. I can't recall the name of the one I like -- it is directly adjacent to the water feature/fountain at North end of street. Don't miss the gelatos and pastry shops. If can be arranged, 5/ 6 am a magical time to wander into coffee shops, sit and listen to the elders discoursing in Italian.

Mostly GELATO, not ice cream. Pistachio used to be a favorite of mine, but not so much lately, so have not looked for it. Just ask in any one of the several very authentic pastry shops -- these look like restaurants! but have pastry and gelato counters
Where does the trolley tour pick up and drop off? I'm staying at the Urban Boutique Hotel.

Depende, caminando es como 40 minutos del horton plaza tomas Broadway hacia america plaza ahí esta la avenida india St, y te llevará hasta el letrero de Little italy.
Puedes utilizar el servicio de uber si vas con varios te conviene.

Hard to answer Some are for tourists others are more local. Little Italy is not that big of an area. Menus are posted out front of each restaurant. Peruse them all. Enjoy your stay
